I used to work two doors down from this place; for a while I ate there everyday since my boss was vegetarian and it started to get contagious. I got the fake chicken on brown rice with pineapples and the sweet red sauce almost every time. Reading that sentence it doesn't sound too appetizing, but it was good take my word for it. Once in a while I'd order the fake beef with broccolli but most days it just didn't win the battle over the chicken. The staff is friendly and quiet, and the look inside is plain but nice.

Golden Era is a low key, peaceful vegetarian Thai place in sort of a rough block of the Tenderloin. I didn't eat any of the fake meat, but I'm told it's good. My stir fry veggie plate was delicious, and I had an avocado and tapioca drink that was really unique. If you happen to be near Polk street, this is a good option.
