06/29/2007 | A colorful and talented cast of hurlers- Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Ken Holtzman, Blue Moon Odom, etc. A raucous bunch who fit that era perfectly with their mustaches, beards, fighting, rather gaudy uniforms, and crazy gimmickry- diametrically opposed to what I would describe as, though both were mega talented, a staid, conservative, apple pie bunch like the Reds of the same era... or the Yankees in the old days or the Steinbrenner years excepting their late 70's teams who were reminiscent of this crew in some ways.
