Great work right from the beginning on the first album's "Dazed and Confused," " How Many More Times," and "Good Times, Bad Times." Jones' bass playing was strong on subsequent efforts, and he also played organ, clavinet, and other instruments on their tracks. Like some other bass players in big rock acts, Jones was a quiet sort who sometimes got overlooked. A career session man before joining Led Zeppelin, he'd worked on tracks by Donovan, Herman's Hermits, and The Stones on "Satanic Majesties." After Zeppelin broke up in late 1980, Jones forged a successful career as a producer.
