An egg is an egg whether it's Easter or Christmas. Easter eggs are fun for children. I see nothing wrong with the tradition as long as it does not take away from or replace the celebration of Christ's resurrection.

Ahh, the boiled egg. Smell like farts even before you eat them.

They look nice, and Easter egg hunts were kind of fun when I was little, but I honestly just don't like hard boiled eggs.

I see nothing wrong with this in its proper perspective. As long as the
kids are learning what Easter really means, and not being told that the
"Easter Bunny" hid them. I don't think there's anything wrong with
letting kids have a little good-natured fun. Coloring and dying eggs
encourages creativity. Plus, there are on the market some wonderful
Christian-oriented egg decorating kits that help to glorify in the real
meaning of Easter.

we have hard boiled and colored tons of EAster eggs over the years. we passed this year. we never seem to eat them fast enough anyway. and we even pass out some of them. fun thing to do when the kids were little. pretty inexpensive thing to do for Easter time.

This is for the kids, and I really don't have problem with it. It may have absolutely nothing to do with the real meaning of Easter, but I don't think God will hold it against us, any more than he does Santa Claus. It was always fun the night before Easter to help the kids color their eggs. I don't see why so many people freak out about something so benign.

Gotta go with stark on this one. If you believe in the truth of Jesus, that faith will not be shaken-nor will that of your children- by presents at Christmas or colored eggs at Easter.

The commercial side of Easter, just like presents around Christmas.

I had to get to the bottom of this egg mystery - where it came from and why is it assocated with Easter. So I referred to the trusty internet and found this: From ancient times eggs were decorated and exchanged. The Romans, Gauls, Chinese, Egyptians and Persians all cherished the egg as a symbol of the universe. Eggs were symbols of creation and new life along with being the major symbol of fertility. Even today many refer to the Cosmic Egg which brought forth all life. In Christianity the symbolism of the egg changed from nature's rebirth (spring) to the rebirth of man. Christians embraced the egg symbol and likened it to the tomb from which Christ rose.

Sidestepping the religious connotations, it generally means hyper kids and sleeping late...in a way it's too bad you couldn't combine it with Halloween because then you could fire twice as many eggs at the house of someone you don't like, though then again it'd be pretty sad for a grown man to do that...if only I had a time machine..or knew where Limp Bizkit lived...

Just be sure that you find all the eggs on Easter! You don't want to find one a few weeks later...with your nose!

My church is having an Easter breakfast, and then an egg hunt for the kids before the church service starts.
