12/26/2007 | The first appearance of this lady was in the 1977 episode called "The Castoffs". She was 80-ish, homeless, and thought to be weird by most of Walnut Grove. Laura and a few others accept her, however. This was the same episode in which Laura's dog Jack passes away. Charles gets a new dog (this was Bandit) for Laura to make her feel better. Laura is not willing to accept this dog at first. We later see how Kezia and Bandit are symbolic of one another. Kezia helps Laura comes to terms with her pain of Jack's passing, and tells her how much Bandit needs to be loved. At the end, Laura accepts Bandit, and Kezia becomes a well-liked citizen of Walnut Grove.
I see the character of Kezia as a lady of great wisdom. It would have been great if she were used more often.
