Yep, I remember this. My mom wanted to sleep in on the weekend so I got to watch TV. I pity todays children. The cartoons are crap these days but yet all they wanna do is watch TV.

Saturday morning cartoons were the highlight of my week, so I always dreaded those Saturdays when dad would make me help sell hogs (that started when I was about 5). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, and Garfield were some of my favorites. If they didn't interfere with my favorites, I usually watched Looney Toons as well. I also had to take turns letting my sister watch junk like Saved By The Bell, so those Saturdays weren't much fun either. I've flipped through the channels on Saturday mornings recently, and I have to say that the cartoon quality has really declined. If I was a little kid today, I think I'd just sleep in until noon.

I used to do this eating cereal with my dad, early Saturday mornings before going to Croatian school. We both learned english together doing this- the Flintstones were our favorite, though :)

This was one of my favorite childhood memories.

Cartoons were great then. We grew up on Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner before they were edited for political correctness (is that even a word?). We also had the Beatles and Jackson 5 cartoons....My favorite when I was little was Underdog and my brother's favorite was Bullwinkle.

There were some good ones back in the day.

Saturday morning was usually a time that mom and dad had a chance to sleep in. So my brothers and I would usually fix ourselves our own cereal in the morning and sit down to watch some cartoons. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was probably our favorite at the time. Definitely good memories of this.
