If you love this franchise, as I do, you really need to bite the bullet and watch old Rocky battling it out one more time. I thought the emotional build up leading up to Rock's decision to get back in the ring was about 15 minutes too long, but once the the training starts, and that music starts playing, and Michael Buffer shows up, Rocky Balboa is able to dial up that same old underdog magic. And it works again. The fight itself is absolutely awesome. Rocky looks slow and plodding, but fearsomely strong - and with a fighter's chance. Sure it's outrageous, but Rocky's ability to make fun of himself, and just enough added touches - an untested champ, a hand injury, a few crushing body shots landed early - make this movie just believable enough to make you think a little bit. George Foreman's legacy doesn't hurt either. Being the Philly guy that I am, I actually enjoyed some of the slower neighborhood scenes at the beginning. But for most of you, I'd say just hang in there until Rock starts training. It gets good.

Oh yeah, if you haven't checked out the pic of RateItAll's own Randyman with Rocky from a few decades ago, you can check it out here.
