I actually am not a big conspiracy theory person but after seeing the sissy spacesuits that were part of the moonwalk...I really think it was staged. Roger that, Buzz

Having looked a little into this theory most peoples idea of it seems to be wrong. The common belief with people who believe these things isn't that they were all faked, they believe the first landing was faked, in order to "beat" the Russians. Although I'm sure there is whackjobs who believe them all faked, this is the slightly more sane one. Also there is another theory that they did go to the moon but faked the footage. They just seem to pile up like cars on an icy road. All pretty much laughable but interesting to look at and read about.

If this were true, the Russians and/or Chinese would have outed us long ago. Plus, there are telescopes on Earth that are powerful enough that you can actually see the moon rovers and other equipment that was left on the surface of the Moon, so...

Of course the moon walks weren't faked.  I saw the plaster cast of Sasquatch's foot print that they brought back from the moon myself.

No, it wasn't. Most of the arguments used by the conspiracy theorists can be dismissed by a little common sense and a basic knowledge of photography. Not to mention the fact that in almost a half century somebody would have come forward and said something.

Thankfully, according to Nasa we're going back to the moon within the next 10 years and hopefully onto Mars...

Naw... I mean, why? Just so that we could "claim" that we got there first before the Russians or the Japanese? I mean, wouldn't that be pointless? And say they were faked? Why hasn't anyone else, or us gone back?

Genghis, I would venture to say that it is extremely difficult for an even dozen people to keep a secret, much less the myriad of people working for the space program. Ask the CIA if you need proof. :)

This is really goofy.  There are probably tens of thousands of people involved with the space program.  When is the last time that you knew 10,000 people could keep a secret?

There are tons of gaps in this theory. Billions were spent on the space program between 1958 to 1973 on the project to send man to the moon. We know that the government has no problem in spending taxpayer dollars, but over a billion on a hoax is too much! There are too many people who were involved in the space program at the time. You wouldn't think that at least one or two would have blown the top off this conspiracy? I know that we wanted to beat the Soviets bad to get to the moon first, but why would we have resorted to such extremes when we knew that they weren't as advanced as we thought they were. Hell, they were so poor that we had to send subsidized grain to their country just so they could feed their people during the 1970's. And a any rate, it would have quite a political embarrassment to have the Soviets uncover that it was all a theatrical production!

According to the theories, the shots were taken in the desert with special lenses to make the horizon look smaller than it is.
