For years, Bob Cousy was one of their television announcers, and while he was pretty insightful, I don't think I understood a third of what he said- Cousy was from New York City, played college ball at Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and of French or French Canadian ancestry, his parents might have been immigrants, I can't remember. In any case, those weren't the reasons that I could barely understand Bob Cousy, he didn't speak in a NYC, central Massachusetts, or French accent, he spoke in a slurred accent apparently native only to Cousys.
