08/18/2006 | | "Volume 4" was always one of my favorite albums by them, in large part because of the diversity of styles and moods on the album- there was everything from gentle laments like "Changes" to heavy blues infused epics like "Wheels of Confusion" to this rather experimental track. This track had an addictive riff and lyrics that, to me, suggested a big middle finger to authority figures, though I'm pretty sure that wasn't the only theme of the song. The song not only features loud guitar and piercing vocals, it also has an interesting and highly atypical Carribean music flavor in the middle, with some interesting steel drums. It's quite rythymic and catchy. | 3 |
