08/09/2006 | | Thematically, this one from their 3rd record, 'Master Of Reality," tread similar ground to both "Electric Funeral" and "War Pigs" on the previous album , 'Paranoid." This song actually seems like it belongs on the previous album, and not " Master of Reality," if that makes any sense. It concerns itself with the evil possibility of nuclear war, and how opportunistic and devious leaders the world 'round make a profit off of war, fear and hate. The eerie, slightly bombastic horror music part in the middle was simultaneously cheesy and effective, and the bass work by Butler was really good on this very tight tune. As a side note, anyone else here notice how Blondie, intentionally or not, ripped off the rythym of this cut for their mega- hit "Call Me?" | 4 |
