I studied violin since I was a really young girl. Then I began studying piano, mostly so I could accompany myself during practice sessions -- back then, we had a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Finally, in my late teens, I realized I was never going to be extraordinary at the violin, so I put it away, and became much more of an appreciator of the seriously decent violinists out there.3

I can't play one,but my Pops can play a mean country fiddle or play in a symphony.I gave Violin a 5 because I love to hear one played well (Regina Carter!) & also because it's truly a hard instrument to master.2

My neice started violin at 3yrs old and now at 16 has been told she should go to Julliard. She is really good. She also plays banjo some with my Dad's banjo group.3
