Warlords (1981) is the reason I still hang on to my old Atari and continue to spot spare paddles with covetous eyes. This game was the best title available for the Atari (by far). For the sadly uninitiated, Warlords was similar to Breakout but much more competitive. Each player would reflect (or better yet grab) a ball and smash through a protective wall to hit the warlord inside. Though a single player could play against three (weak) computer opponents, the game really shined when four individuals were crashing their way through to each others castles. As the game used the paddle set, a quick eye, dexterous hand, and benign mean streak were all required to survive. Warlords really begs to be updated and re-released for the modern gaming consoles (but alas I don't think any come with similar analog controller options.)
