I thought they'd be doing better at this point in the season. Earlier this year, I wrote here that they would overtake the Patriots as the dominant power in the AFC East, but that’s going to take more time. It’s a shame they couldn’t get more done, for the division is particularly weak this year. The Patriots are still good, but not nearly as good as 2, 3 years ago. Defensively they're still very solid, but the problem this year has been establishing this team as a legitimate scoring threat. The Dolphins have only scored 12 points on average per game! The central problem here seems to be Culpepper, whom is still recovering from a very bad knee injury. If he felt that he was ready to go, it would be fine to put him in, but the thing is that he's the type of passer that makes plays moving around in the pocket and eventually throwing the ball to his receivers. Since he's not confident in the pocket, he has had to learn to be more of a pocket passer, kind of like another former Dolphin, Dan Marino. However, C-Pep will never be that, for he just doesn't have the skills to do it. It takes him 10 seconds to get rid of the ball! Local and national sportswriters have taken game in criticizing poor play calling along weak offensive line play for the Dolphins woes, but in my view it goes back to the quarterback establishing the team as a scoring threat. You're not going to make it by playing too conservative! Sure, there have been major injuries along the O-line that have damaged the running game and special teams play, a usual strong point for this team, has been particularly weak, but it really comes down to the Quarterback in my view. This is a team that's going to need some more work. The fickle fans in Miami already want Coach Nick Saban out after only a year, but I think they should give him more time, possibly two or three more draft classes, before they pass judgment. 3

Good defensive team, Chris Chambers and Ronnie Brown are a good tandem on offense, but Cullpepper is way too inconsistent at QB.2

Going on how they closed out last season there seems to be a lot of chemistry in Miami. They have a legit shot.3
