07/27/2006 | I took this idea from the late, lamented Jeff MacNelly who had a cartoon lampooning one of Jerry Brown's presidential runs, 25-30 years ago.
At that time and place, Brown was pushing solar power, blah, blah, blah. MacNelly had Brown as a lead in "The First Solar Powered Rock Concert" with a horde of amps, instruments and other electrical devices hooked up to a solar collector.
Of course, nothing was happening and Jerry was making some fatuous comment that I have forgotten. The image is a howler!

06/28/2006 | Has this list maker ever been to a rock concert? You think those people sit around and contemplate the scientific and ecological benefits and costs of solar power between fist-pumps and beers? This list could use some brains, balls, and cultural accuracy and relevancy. . .

06/27/2006 | That'd be quite pc, I agree. The part about "use a solar collector electric generator and wait for the sun" EVEN SOUNDS like an early Pink Floyd c. '68 outtake!
