11/28/2006 | Great song musically, but, as often was the case with the Stones, I found the lyrics nonsensical (maybe Jagger was doing acid when he wrote them). Sometimes, even with their best songs, I tended to ignore whatever Jagger was saying and replaced the lyrics in my own mind with my own. Occasionally, Jagger was inspired, but more often than not was silly, at least when it came to song-writing. Thankfully, the words he sang often weren't all that decipherable. Not to say that he wasn't brilliant as a singer when the Stones were at their magnificent best, but I never thought the writing of lyrics was his strong suit.
