I lived in a unit with my mother and they stunk as landlords!!! There was mold in the bathroom that had been painted over right before we moved in and it started to show with in the first month. We tried getting them to fix it but by our surprise they ignored our phone calls. So we fixed it, moved out after our year lease was over and yet again another surprise they wouldn't give us our deposit back! So if you like breathing or even being ALIVE then you'll keep looking for a different place to live.

Wish I has read these reviews prior to renting. It may have saved me some headaches. I also moved into an apartment that had not been cleaned. It wasn't a little dirty. It took some major scrubbing, especially the bathroom. They are very slow to respond to any maintenance issues. Anne can be helpful, but whenever I speak to her, I feel like I am bothering her. I'm just doing my time here until I can move on to another place.

Don't use this realty company as a rental agency. Even though you have a lease for a specified time, ours was for a summer rental 4 months through July 31, they still require a written 30 day notification that you will be moving out. We cleaned the apartment. Spotless. They knew we were moving out and still won't return our security deposit. Pure crap!!!

I WAS A LITTLE CAUTIOUS AFOTER READING SOME OF THESE NEG. POSTS, BUT I KEPT IN MIND IT IS USUALLY THE DISGRUNTLED / PISSED OFF CONSUMER WHO LEAVE REVIEWS (USUALLY BAD), PLUS THEY HAD THIS AWSOME 2 BEDROOM LOFT APARTMENT FOR VERY REASONABLE RENT.

SO FAR SO GOOD WITH EVERYTHING. IM RENTING AN APARTMENT FROM THEM RIGHT NOW AND HAVE HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I PLAN ON RENEWING MY LEASE. IVE HAD TO CALL MAINTENANCE 2 TIMES AND ONE TIME THEY CAME THE SAME DAY, THE OTHER WAS 2 DAYS AFOTER I CALLLED. MY APARTMENT IS HUGE FOR THE MONEY! COMPARED TO MY PREVIOUS LANDLORD THESE GUYS ARE MUCH BETTER. I RECOMMEND THEM.

Well, I wont agree with the "Miserable Anne" statement, because she is, in my opinion helpful, polite, and sweet. Maintenance on the other hand... completely sucks. We've lived here for almost a year, and have called several times about a certain problem in the house, and have YET to have it resolved. I called again this morning and they said they would send someone out, let's see how this goes. LOL. Neighbors are ass holes

Not a malicious landlord, but they just don't seem to care about their tenants beyond getting their check every month. Maintenance concerns are very slowly responded to, if at all. No distinct parking policy – no stickers or policing of parking lots, so it's a free-for-all. Anne, the office manager, is nice enough, but seems helpless to do anything to fix whatever the manager (that you'll never meet) is doing wrong.

I must say that after all the places ive rented from their the worse hands down. First of all if anything breaks(which it will), they will not fix it for months if ever. Also I have a dog which costs an extra $250 in security deposit(ridiculous) and an extra $50 a month. After the lease was up and we moved out, they said there was an extreme dog odor which there wasn't. Everything was hardwood floors then proceeded to say that they had to do some serious carpet cleaning which costed us so much money. We had about a 7 by 7 bedroom that was carpeted and the dog slept in the crate outside the bedroom, but they continued to deny me in giving any of the extra dog security deposit back. Also in the lease they did not specify that all first floor tenants must take out all garbage recepticles(which were 6 not including recycling bins), even after the walk through with the landlord he did not say, but that a tenant next door informed me. Then that tenant proceeded to never take out the garbages again. Seriously if you are considering an apartment or anything from them i wouldn't. Worse realty company ever. Spread the word. I dont want anymore good people to give these horrible landlords any of their hard earned dollars. They've only earned 1 star because i had to give at least a star, but they deserve negative stars if anything. Worst people ever! When you pay rent they should be wearing a ski mask because it is highway robbery!

My experience with Singer Real Estate couldn’t have been more DISAPOINTING! At first everything was a dream come true I soon realized it was too good to be true. The people who own operate and work for Singer Reality are liars, thieves and scam artists. I learned the hard way. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WHAT SO EVER WITH SINGER REAL ESTATE!

They do not care about their tenants. This becomes evident after only a week of living at one of their properties. They have a truly miserable office manager named Anne M. - getting a cavity drilled is preferable to speaking with her.
Good luck getting any maintenance or repair after asking only once. One example (of many) - There was water leaking into my apartment so I called the emergency maintenance pager. No response after a week, so I try it again as by this point there is water damage which I mention. Still no response so during the day I reluctantly call Anne and have another awful conversation about the leak and the water damage. Another week goes by without anybody coming to take a look. Mold is now growing on the wall and the floor. The wood (hardwood floor) is now warped where there is now a tiny stream running across the hallway. 25 days after I first reported the issue, I stop by the office in person on my lunch break and show Anne pictures of what is happening to their property. I get another healthy dose of her famous negative attitude. The next day though, maintenance personnel finally visits my apartment, and 3 days later the issue was fixed. Almost a whole month for a water leak!
When I first moved into the apartment it was filthy. I had to pay a cleaning person off of Craigslist $60 to give the place a once over before moving in.
The only positive thing I can say about this company is that they are somewhat desperate for tenants. This allows for bargaining by the prospective renter, and the person who shows the properties that you end up bargaining with is not Anne, so its not so bad.

I wish I could say that the people at Singer Real Estate are honest, well-intentioned, and hard-working. Unfortunately, my experience so far (and that of my neighbors and fellow tenants) has indicated the opposite.

When I was shown my apartment, the agent promised me it would be cleaned, and the holes in the wall repaired, before I moved in. It wasn't cleaned, and the holes were not prepared, even after I called maintenance and a guy came and inspected them.

Similarly, one of my neighbors in this house was promised that her apartment would be cleaned and cleared (of old furniture, loose nails, and clutter) before she moved in. Again, this didn't happen. After several requests, they removed the desk.

This neighbor has seen the temperature in her apartment drop over the past week to 60, then 50, 40, and now 30. Singer is very slow in responding to maintenance concerns, taking two days or more to respond even when their emergency number is called and the apartment, at 30 degrees Fahrenheit, is uninhabitable.

Several months ago, another of my neighbors (in the same house, managed by Singer) had his apartment flooded with dirty water because of some plumbing problem. He too had to wait a few days before maintenance finally came to clean it up and repair the plumbing.

From this pattern of broken promises and sluggish response to critical maintenance issues, I must regrettably conclude that the people at Singer Real Estate, by their actions, seem to be truly unconcerned for their tenants' comfort and safety, as well as their own integrity. I hope that they prove me wrong in the future, but I will not hold my breath.
