An obscure band, originally from Antioch College in Ohio, they then moved to D.C. before moving to the Bay Area in the hopes of making it big, like many groups from all over the land did in 66 and 67. One of the best, maybe THE best of all obscure Bay Area bands. The first album was sort of like Quicksilver or Country Joe, with some jazz influence, the songs were mastered too fast by the producer, the error wasn't fixed, and the album got bad reviews at the time, though it's actually very good. Some offbeat ballads, and some stuff that is really weird. There's a lot of tunes about the nightmarish effects of drugs and the horrors of war, I'd classify them as 'nightmare psych,' no flower power on this one.
