Assuming for the purposes of this list that brick and mortar software stores are now obsolete, I will certainly miss them. For starters, the cover art for games would be lost (as it is or soon will be for album covers). More importantly, I still prefer the security of having a personal copy on disc for back-up purposes if something ever happens to my hard drive. I simply don't want to risk having to pay for software twice or worse, not having an older version or title available anymore. Perhaps, this issue has been addressed by online download vendors, but I can't see a better option than a professionally burned copy.1

I haven't seen one in years actually. Quite frankly, I wouldn't mind actually talking to someone in person about my options.3

Yeah, these are dying. All the big software companies do it by direct downloads. The loss in hands on customer service is probably mitigated by the fact you are now dealing direct with the manufacturer who probably have a strong knowledge of their product.3
