Fred Grandy was a graduate of Harvard and fluent in three languages. He served in the House from Iowa for four terms and was on Ways and Means, where you can't serve if you are a dope. He was a moderate Republican and opposed the conservative GOP governor in the Iowa GOP primary. He lost narrowly and has gone on to other things. He was an effective and well respected legislator. It's amazing how RIA raters gauge him based on his television character!

This is scraping the bottom of the barrel. What's interesting is that the majority of actors turned pol seem to be Republicans.

Gopher from Love Boat was at one time an important official. Whoever voted for this bozo should be kicked all the way back to 4th grade.
