 | Mad Hatter (38) 02/22/2006 | My writting started off in about the same way. A poetry writting assignment. The one poem I wrote was published about six months ago. But my writting style is turning more towards screenplays. I am currently writting one inspired by my mother's childhood.

 | Vudija (100) 02/21/2006 | Poetry is something that I also listed on the "Things Vudija Collects" thread; and I responded to Blue about why it's so important to me, but I'll repeat it here. I write, because I am emotionally unattached to most people; I have a hard time relating or expressing myself outloud when it comes to being vulnerable and such. Originally, I wrote as a school assignment and felt forced to be creative, which I don't believe in at all. Once the force was gone, I could write freely and more genuine to how I was truly feeling on many different issues of life. I use it as my own form of therapy, far cheaper than having a psych. tell me that I'm unsociable and need more friends, 'cause I already know that :-)

 | oscargamblesfro (82) 02/21/2006 | Believe it or not, I used to too, when I was a little older than you, or more accurately prose poems and short stories about life and the people I grew up with in Boston, mostly working class matters and sociopolitical stuff, got published in a few small magazines in Cambridge, MA. It's a fun hobby though I haven't done it in years, but watch out for the people involved in creative writing kid: some of them are ABSOLUTELY NUTS... the stories I could tell ya...
