Had one of these several years ago. I think it's still sitting in my colon today.

I created an account just to review this item after reading all of the different reviews. I stumbled across this site because I was looking up nutrition information for this menu item. Now, this was not to determine whether or not I should get it; I just wanted to know what I was ingesting! I think of myself as a generally health conscious person. I workout, get 5-8 servings of fruits and vegetables daily, and live on lean protein. But... seriously people?!! You can't treat yourself every once in awhile? Yeah, it might not have whole grains, anti-oxidants or a whole lot else going on for it health-wise. This is sooo delicious and it keeps you full all day. Yeah, it has half of the daily amount of fat the average person needs, but so what? Because it keeps you full all day, you probably won't eat a whole lot more and if you usually don't eat such unhealthy food, you will be fine. I PROMISE! Now for the sandwich. It is very greasy. The best way I have found to combat this in the car ... Read more

This thing is just one bite away from having a heart attack. It comes in at 670 calories and 279 of that is from fat. With food like this being served in the US, it's no wonder we have kids that are 10 years old and weigh 300 pounds! I can hear furniture and toilets all over the place screaming, "GET YOUR FAT A** OFF ME!"

I'd give this bagel sandwich ten stars for taste, if I could, but only giving three, because of the inconsistencies! I look forward to this: as it is supposed to be made, but half the time I go to McDonald's.......it isn't made right! Breaks my heart! Ordered one this morning, and my steak was so dry, then one half of the bagel was burnt black, and the worst part was.....that there were NO sauteed onions on it! PHOOEY!!! Can't believe I paid for that crap!! I was expecting the usual greasy & yummy sandwich! Sigh...... :(

This is probably the best thing on the McD's menu. Don't try to dissect it. Don't try to determine the relative merits of its component parts. That way madness lies. This is *McDonalds.* To complain about the quality of the steak...at McDonalds...is simply crazy. What makes this sandwich good is the synergy of all of its parts. Individually, they are nothing special. From the steak, to the onions, to the cheese, to the eggs, to the "sauce," to the bagel itself. Nothing here is all that special or compelling. It's only when they are combined and mashed together in a drippy, greasy, gooey, cheesy mess that the magic happens. I am guilty of that ultimate sin. At one time, I would pull through the drive-tru so frequently to purchase this beast that the person on the other end of the speaker began to recognize my voice. I would actually drive 5 miles down the road to the next McDonalds every once in a while to avoid the embarrassment that I knew I would feel as I fueled my ... Read more

Maybe like once a month or so on my way to work I stop by McD's and pick up a sausage egg and cheese bagel. Well the last time I went the person at the drive thru misheard me and gave me a steak egg and cheese. I figured no big deal. Maybe it's tme to try something new. What I tried was something disgusting. I didn't like it at all. The "steak" had the consistency and texture of the inside of a slim jim. It actually tasted very much like a slim jim without the spicy kick. Not that I have a problem with slim jim's but I prefer not to have them on my breakfast sandwich. One of the nastiest things I've ever tasted. I will never have one again.

I live in Wisconsin and I had one of these yesterday morning at 6:oo A.M. before work. MAN! What a sandwich! That thing was so good I was ready to order another one. I'll be hitting the drive-thru in the morning again. Sorry for you folks where they pulled it off the menu. This thing is worth it's weight in gold!

I Love this sandwich. I think we got them when they started the Beanie Baby craze and they've been on the menu ever since. It was the only reason I went to McDonald's until our grandson was born and now loves the play area. Sometimes we get up there for breakfast. If I could afford it I would have it for breakfast every day. LOVE IT Thanks to the McD's in Ohio for still having it on the menu.

I totally agree with a previous commenter suggesting the sandwich is very addicting. They were only available in Oregon for about a year before they took it off the menu. You can still find them in some regions of the country. I travel on business and always look for them. You can find them in San Fran and San Rafael CA. I have also had them in recently in Atlanta and North Dakota. Hmmmm very tasty. However, I have to admit it was probably better for my health that they took them off the menu in my home town as I was eating at least one every day. Yes every day! While I love the sandwich I have to admit they had a tendency to be inconsistently made. Some steaks were dry/cold while others were juicy and hot. Some steak had just the right amount of seasoning, while other times it had no spice at all. On occasion, they put way too much sauce and it was a huge mess. This inconsistency happens all over the country. One day great, the next day not so great. I personall... Read more

This 'samich' has been long gone from every McD's that I've ever lived near. My last McD's SEC Bagel was in 2005 in Jackson Hole, WY. Now I go to McD's and ask if they have it. The drive-through person says it never existed! I guess I can't blame them, they're either too young to remember or weren't in the country back then (that was soooo wrong of me, I'm sorry if I offended). At any rate, I've duplicated the recipe. The "secret sauce" is Hollandaise sauce. The steak is the kind you buy frozen for philly cheese steaks (Morton's, Steak-ums, etc) The steak seasoning is "Motreal Steak Seasoning" (available at any grocery store that's here with us in the 21st century) The bagel is lightly toasted on the inside. You can figure out the rest.

I had never eaten one thing from McDonalds breakfast menu, until I had the steak, egg & cheese bagel. The steak is full of flavor and tasty, the onions compliment the egg and cheese, and the bagel is soft and tender. Never hard, never burnt, never cold. Yes it's greasy, a bit pricey, and I'm sure it's unhealthy, but it's perfect for a Saturday morning breakfast with your girlfriend before you go out for the day. I personally would eat one every day if I could, but we all got lines (scale markings) we dont wanna cross. Best breakfast sandwich ever.

This item will eat a napkin and I always get grease on my pants. Still, though it might look disgusting the sandwich is delicious. It is one of the few breakfast items that I like. For the most part breakfast bores me, but these steak, egg, and cheese bagels are exciting food.

These steak egg and cheese bagels must have crack in them 'cuz they're really addictive.......and probably about as good for you!! True they are a bit greesey, but...in a good way. Pull up to the drive through and say, "Give me the steak egg and cheese bagel, hash browns and a large tankard of Coke to-go.......Oh, and knock 18 months off my expected life span!"

I will find the manager to strangle if they ever discontinue these! They are the best thing Mcdonalds serves -- and should be served all day although my scale thanks them for not doing that!!!!

Sinfully delicious and the single best thing ever to come out of that grease pit. As good as the breakfast bagels I used to get back home on Long Island down in the harbor. Unfortunately they are terrible for you.... but a greasy breakfast is a greasy breakfast, right? Plus I never get a drink or hash browns with it.

It's dripping in grease, but it's the best thing on McDonald's menu. I tend to eat these when I'm traveling and don't have the time to eat a real breakfast.

I love the Steak and Egg Bagle. In order to make me feel better, healthwise, I always request it without sauce and american cheese. Try it with Mickey D's Hot Picante Sauce.....sooooooooo good!! :)

I totally agree with zuchinibut. I would go to Mc.D's for lunch, dinner, or a midnight snack if they served this thing all day. I'd probably be a lot larger, though. This is the ultimate breakfast sandwhich on a biscuit! Just ask..I think they have a button! I receipt says "Steak egg cheese bagel - on a biscuit." McD's biscuits are nothing to frown at.

I am not afraid to admit that I have an addiction to the Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel. If it were available 24 hours a day, I would visit Mickey D's a lot more often. However, on my morning commute I stop several times a week to pick these up. It tastes great...although I'm sure its awful for me, and keeps me full the whole day.
