 | Vudija (98) 02/10/2006 | Information from Nov. 13, 1985: This eruption cost the lives of rougly 23,000 Colombian citizens. This volcano wasn't nearly as explosive as one might assume, but with pressure build up, it was still able to send out oarge amounts of flowing lava to nearby areas. To get a better expanse on what this volcano cost the area, here's this: Armero, a city built on top of an 1895 mudlow deposit, was inhabited by nearly 27,000 people when it erupted in 1985, with some 23,000 of those people dying afterwards.
