Floridas beaches are AMAZING! I love them, I always go down to south beach or even to the keys (My favorite island of course is Key West) people are nice the food's a mix of Latin and American and -all the times I've been to miami and such- there's HARDLY any trash. Some beaches have flowing palm trees others jagged (well not totaly) rocks with green fish living under them! Also if you wanna go diving the Keys are great becuase they have amazing corals and fish the only things I have to warn you about are: 1) Smelly beaches, do your research wisely my friends unless you like the smell of rotting seaweed. 2)Sharks, always make sure the flag ISIN'T purple (That means dangerous wildlife) that could mean sting rays and sharks. 3)Traffic, South beach is always filled with traffic and people who can't wait for the lite so they just walk past your car giving you a heart attack.

It sounds trite, but the beaches are a huge reason to live in Florida. Nowhere in America, with the possible exception of Hawaii, can you find beaches like this. Las Olas beach in Fort Lauderdale was my haunt of choice. It had a hoops court on the beach, a pretty chill scene, and gorgeous sand. Tigertail on Marco Island on the gulf side is also fantastic. The presence of such stunning beaches (and the nice climate), just makes you want to be outside all the time.

I would say the beaches (no place in Florida is more than 70 miles from a beach) are a wonderful thing about living in Florida and the only reason I do not give it a "5" is because of the danger of hurricanes.

Florida has a lot of beautiful beaches, and the west coast has the Gulf.Nice for diving, swimming, snorkeling or just taking a long walk-and you can enjoy them all year long-unlike beaches in most other states.

Quite possibly the best thing Florida has going for it. Without them you're left with scrub brush, sand, bugs, heat, humidity and Spanish moss.

As someone who's lived here for almost 10 years now; the beaches aren't AS apealing as they were when I first came. Coming from Northern Texas; I didn't see a beach until I was almost 10 years old (so imagine the appeal at THAT time). I do think though, that the beaches are definitely something that everyone can enjoy when living or simply visiting this state. I may not enjoy it as much as I did, more because of the amount of people who now frequent them, but I still like to enjoy a nice Gulf sunset from time-to-time.

I would say that beaches are the best thing about Florida. They have so much coastline in this state, and the beaches are as beautiful in most places in the state as any other part of the country.

No matter where you live in Florida, you're pretty close to an awesome beach. You can't say that about any other state.
