There is so much history that went on in just the 5 years this war took place. This period had political, social, and military history so intertwined. Every American seemed to be so deeply effected by what happened during the Civil War, and studying their different experiences by region, race, or belief is incredibly interesting.

The class was interesting, except for the geeks who were disappointed that the class wasn't going to be taught like their board or role playing games.

I liked this okay but I could never really get into it because of the controversy of how and why the Civil War started. Some say it was money, some say it was state's rights, and some say it was slavery (which is the main cause of the war).
