I had this timeframe split into two semesters for just Western Civ in the fairly basic 100 level classes I started with. This is VERY broad and taking those classes was a scratch on the surface.

This topic is much too broad. Even in a survey course, you would have to skip right along and handle a few centuries in every lecture. This is not a good choice for a semester.
