01/10/2006 | | Very true.It is as if you are either a rabid capitalist or you must be a "commie" (or socialist). What we actually have in America today is not even close to a healthy kind of competitive capitalism that encourages people to work hard and start their own businesses, instead, we have a Corporate Oligarchy that crushes fledgling ventures by the common people and gives corporate welfare to the Mega Corps. The Corporations enjoy the protection and aide paid for by taxpayers while the middle class gets bled dry. | 2 |

01/09/2006 | | Capitalism needs democracy to hold it in check. Unchecked capitalism leads to one of several problems. Democracy needs capitalism because it is a realistic economic system that provides individual rewards and opportunities commensurate with the philosophy of democracy. | 2 |

01/09/2006 | | Part of me agrees that capitalism has been somewhat perverted by our country....but in the end we are given choices and that is the beauty of it. Where it goes bad is really the consumers fault. If you believe everything you hear or see in the media, if you let a commercial make you buy a product that you know has limitations...its your own fault. If you dont think passed all the commercial b.s. and do some intelligent research yourself your a boob and you deserve to be on the crappy end of capitalism. In other words take the initiative to think on your own and buy good products and services, not names or brands or gimmicks. | 1 |
