Bud Bundy with a Fu Manchu stash, a pocket sized version of Urban Dictionary and a slightly higher command of Ebonics.

Virtually all TV sports talk shows are like being stuck at a tavern table with a bunch of opinionated, but largely ignorant drunks, each of which is trying to shout the others down. Jim Rome is even worse than that.

I dunno, it was pretty damn funny when Jim Everett kicked his ass for calling him Chris (like the female tennis player, yes).

Rome is such a faggot, always pretending that he is better than everyone else. ESPN needs to cancel his show NOW!!

He doesn't seem as cool and candid as he does on the radio show. He doesn't do much joking around on the show either. However, it is still informative and well produced.

Jim Rome has a very self-righteous personality and thinks he is always the expert and always right, but all in all it's not a bad show, even though Rome's attitude can be quite annoying at times. He is, however, very intelligent and very knowledgable in all the topics of every sport he covers and his interviews with athletes are pretty good.

"What is Up". Come on he is a total and complete douch bag. He will say one thing on an episode and then after the event has actually happened he flip flops positions and criticsizes what everyone else was saying, when he was the one saying it in the first place. He Makes fun of athletes and what they are doing when he couldn't get his ass out of his corporate suit and air conditioned studio to compete against local joes who are regular visitors to the International House of Pancakes. Obviously Daddy or some other sort of patronage has gotten him this far in sports broadcasting.

I find Jim Rome to be severely lacking in knowledge of sports, and weak at his attempts to be entertaining. His only purpose is to try and rile people up, and Woody Paige has the corner on that. Awful show!

This man is simply a IGNORANT white man who sucks up to black NFL and NBA players. He thinks the Winter Olympics are worthless simply because he "knows none of the players". What about personal excellemce without regard to whether he "knows" them. He seem more consumed by his WORSHIP of certain NFL and NBA players. His and my generation grew up when school integration was beginning or maybe after it had taken hold. Frankly, I am tired of these white commentators worshipping the "amazing" black athlete rather than looking for excellence in any and all sports without regard to their sense of guilt as it relates to blacks who have "made it". As for black athletes I am delighted at their success, but it gets damn old hearing white men suck the socks of black "superstars". This is just my observations and thoughts for what they are worth.

Jim Rome is a terrible TV host (I've never heard his radio show, but he doesn't belong on TV.) He thinks he's hip, slick and cool, but he proves that he's just the biggest choad-smoker. I just wish that he didn't come on between "NFL Live" and "Around the Horn". It's probably ESPN's attempt to raise ratings for this pathetic guy. Roger Lodge is entertaining. They should dump Rome for Lodge. The other losers in the forum are always terrible. (PS. McEnroe and Sklar are OK.) Plus, the direction is terrible. Why is Jim always looking into the camera to respond to some control room comment and then the director cuts to that camera? Why are they looking for cameras on jibs and elaborate sets to make up for the lack of content? And, has anyone noticed how he will randomly take about 5 minutes of my life to explain how he feels about lame topics? There was that green jacket episode about his internship at the 84 Olympics and how he doesn't want to interview Curtis Martin now beca... Read more

Rome is entertaining, informative, and on the cutting edge of the sports talk phenomenon. I wish they would tape-delay Dan Patrick - who hardly ever takes calls - and play Rome live so that I could be in the Jungle live. As it is now I get Patrick at noon CST and have to wait unti 3:00 to get Rome. You can only bang your monkey so many times before you both get tired of it...at least for awhile.

Apparently all you people that think Jim Rome is God, don't play sports or if you did you could have cared less what you did. He made a statement at the beggining of his show about the Miami and Florida State Game. (And just for the record I hate Florida team, I go to PSU.) I am saying this so my answer doesn't sound bias. But I love football and really don't care who is playing.....I jsut want to see a good game. But Mr. Rome tore apart the statemetn that Wright said and even though Miami lost, they are the better team. Hello JIm!?!?!?! Your Comment to about look at the score bored and obviously they weren't the best because they lost? Look at all the stats in the game? Miami was better! Were the Bulls a worse team b/c they lost to the Jazz in the championships, Were the Yankees better then the Redsox, or were the sox jsut in a hot streak and the yankees in a slump. Anyone that makes a retarted comment that Jim Rome made, Clearly points out that this guy has no clue about spor... Read more

My favorite description of the pint-sized Mr. Rome was from the guy who called Rome a cross between an oompah loopah and a gay latino. With a jerk like that at the helm how good could the show be?

This guy speaks the truth. He puts the facts in perspective. He doesn't pussyfoot around and tell it like some people wanna hear it; he says it POINT BLANK!!! Like it should be announced. Jim Rome is a god to the sports world... and a true sports fan knows exactly what I mean.

I like guys or gals that are in your face and give opinions (I prefer it if I agree with them, but respect it nonetheless). However, this guy is so freakin' politically correct, it iritates the hell out of me. If the guy would quit kissing ass all the time and going by established speech norms of a society out of control with Language Police (both are a complete contradiction to someone who is truly in your face, which shows why Rome does a poor job), he could be decent.

Most of the people rating him probably prefer their ESPN served with some Fat ex-football lineman cum analyst saying things like, The team with the most points at the end of the game will win. Rome is bright, witty, funny, and has good insight on all spectrums of sport. If you don't like him, you probably just don't get it because it's a little bit above your head.

I've know Jim Rome since his loser days at Calabasas High School. The kid got a nose job and chin reconstruction on his 18th birthday from his rich parents. No kidding. This is the geek that could. His career is one of the greatest con jobs ever. Believe it from some one who knows. Rome is a fraud.

Rome is an idiot. I can't stand him. Every time I see him I feel like smacking him. I love to see when Jim Everett smacked him. Rome is an annoying jackass who was just asking for it, and he's lucky Everett didn't deform his face.

He's a smart and witty guy, who's also arrogant and self-conciously hip; his schtick would be better if he just toned it down a bit.

Rome has an opinion and loves to share it with such certainty. Too bad his opinions are ridiculous, and the it's a fact way he states them makes it even more laughable.

rome wouldnt be so bad if he had the balls to talk smack about someone AND THEN repeat it when that someone is a guest on his show. talk about a brown-noser. probably employed his hit and run newscaster technique after calling jim everett 'chris everett' and everett attacked him on his old espn show. what a loser.
