Yet another right wing talker. WGN seems to be trying to reinvent itself as the third right-wing radio station in the Chicago area behind WLS and WIND. Every time I've listened to Agar, it's nothing but anti-government, anti-public education. If you catch him making a misleading statement, and try to point out where he's wrong, he'll talk over you and won't let you make your point. A couple of weeks ago he was trying to say that the deaths caused by Toyota's acceleration issue (19 according to Agar) was not really all that terrible when you compare the number of deaths caused by CAFE standards each year (2000 according to Agar). Unfortunately, he never pointed out that the study he was referring to was from 1993 and was based on the smaller cars from the 1970s and 1980s. Misleading? Also, at least one news story I saw put the number killed because of the Toyota acceleration problem at 56.

Agar hardly represents the midwest values that are what WGN is known for, a FAMILY radio station. WGN is pandering to the twnety-something crowd, kids who out of school have little spending power, unlike the boomers who are the WGN audiance. The problem lies with mangement, not the on-air talent. As in so many places what the listeners say matters not, all that matters is what management thinks and here their thinking is guided by the new ratings system which of course is infallable as opposed to the old diary system. When pigs fly.

Jerry is excellent! Those who don't like him. Change the dial. I doubt anyone is forcing you to listen. If you don't like his show, and you think he is a tool, an idiot or a dumbass...Why are you listening to him?

Absolute dumb-ass.He's now in Chicago on the 50,000 watt ABC conservative dis-information station. Loves big corporations, hates individuals. Blathers incessantly about big government taking over our lives but never criticizes the Dept Of Homeland Security, Bush administration wiretapping, torture, Patriot Act, No-Fly list.. Basically a typical intellectually inconsistent conservative propagandist. If you're dumb enough to think Rush Limbaugh has any agenda other than making himself rich by reducing every issue to liberalism vs. conservatism than Jerry Agar is for you. He's is a small cog in the talk radio propaganda machine but he's figured out a way to get a piece of Limbaugh's action. He may actually be Terri O'Brien after gender reassignment surgery.

Nice guy but not a major market thinker.  New York and Chicago stations may have jumped the gun with Jerry at this time in his carreer.  Not yet ready for the big time.

I miss Jerry Agar in Raleigh, North Carolina. There were times when I didn't agree with him but his show was always interesting, always a learning experience.

Jerry exists by recycling right-wing talking points, filtered through a mediocre intellect. If right-wing talk radio is your thing, you can find far better product elsewhere.

My favorite talk show. Jerry is really great about explaining both sides of an issue and clearly describing his position. Furthermore, he is great about putting it in terms everybody can understand and uses examples that are easier for everybody to relate to. For example, the funding of improvements to the sports stadiums. He applies the same logic to other businesses to illustrate how rediculous it is for taxpayers to finance improvements to any private industry.
