I've generally thought it pretty unfair Duane gets all the acclaim when Betts had a 50% input into their partnership. Let it not be forgotten that the playing on 'Jessica' is his. Duane was dead when this was cut. Anyway, his playing is a sublime mix of blues and country that never outstays its welcome. Many other players would do well to pay attention.

Dickey Betts is under-rated.I've seen him up close playing live, and he's amazing. He also wrote quite a few good songs over the years.

A partner in crime with the late great Duane Allman. Band parctically invented the two guitar attack. Master of rock, blues, bluegrass, jazz-fusion. Check out In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, Blue Sky, Jessica....
