Chipper Jones 3

Does he stand out from all of the rest of the players these days? I don't know. I wish I could give him a three and a half. Great player.

Before this season he was already a strong candidate for Cooperstown. Now he's all but a lock. A first ballot wouldn't surprise me, but I think it will take a couple of years.

He has been SICK this yr at the plate!!  Still around 400 batting avg.  An awesome power hitting 3rd baseman

His numbers now are just about there, but how many more years does he have? He's benn in the league for 13 years, is 35 going on 42, and winding his career down. He probably will get in, but to make it on the first ballot, he'll need to have a weak class of peers that year.

depending on how long he plays he has solid enough numbers to compair to any recent hall of famer... he might not play for 20 years but he is still one of the best in the era.

Not a sure thing with Chipper because he's been average for the last few seasons.

Chipper Jones will be a worthy Hall of Famer. He might have been overshadowed by the pitching stars the Braves had, but Jones has been a great offensive player his whole career. His batting average is over .300 and he has good homerun and RBI numbers. He won an MVP award, and his teams have always won their division. He might not be the first player people think of when they consider great players, but when you look at what he has done over his career, I think it is hard to argue against him.

Not first ballot, but still a reasonable choice if he has a few more good years.

He could use some more big seasons. He's had a fine career, and has been an integral part of the Braves amazing run, though in a way, despite his bunch of good years, he's a rather boring player for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on.
