After reading the previous reviews I'd have to say that I don't have any problems!! No, the taste isn't minty fresh but it's not bad either. I've been using this stuff for a month and people have noticed that my teeth look whiter! I don't have any peeling, swelling, bad taste, bleeding gums, or tongue discoloration problems at all... it must be individual body chemistry or something like that!! My opinion... two thumbs up :)

I read through a lot of these reviews and was really surprised to see how many people said they dumped it down the sink after they tried it and didn't like it. This stuff costs anywhere from six to ten dollars a bottle. Why are you dumping it down the drain after one use? I'm glad to see you guys have such extra money to be able to do this. Instead of wasting it, why not offer it to a friend or even call the number on the back. They will let you send the unused portion back for a refund or a replacement voucher to get some regular Listerine. Either way, the dumping it down the sink to me is very wasteful and ridiculous. Also, if you would read the bottle, you would see that it is not a mouthwash but a pre-brush rinse. If you go into it expecting it to be like any other mouthwash, yes you will be disappointed. How very typical. I personally love this product, from the taste to the foaming action, to the whitening itself. I, however, do not follow the directions to the letter. I brush my... Read more

I will never use anything else except for this product to whiten my teeth. I have used so many other things from prescription to the strips. Using the prescription I had to put it into a retainer and I would forget to do it. Using the strips would make my teeth so sensitive that I could not even eat. As soon as I saw this product which was about 2-3 years ago I just had to try it. After about 6 months or so I started to see a major difference. My dentist even told me that it is rare to see such white and strong teeth in someone my age at that time (21 or 22). This product will not just brighten teeth and will also strengthen them. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants whiter teeth.

What I like most is that it does not hurt my teeth, but it does make them very white. If I use it regularly my teeth remain very white if I stop using it they yellow after a few days. The only thing I do not exactly like it that it makes my tongue white too, but I don't care so much because my teeth look great.

Amazing- I love this stuff- I use it twice a day before i rinse and I notice a difference right away(within one use!) I however drink no red wine, coffee, or dark sodas so my teeth are verryyy corporative to being whitened. MUCH cheaper then the strips. I advise flossing before rinsing. The only downfall i have is that it tends to make my gums and cheeks kind of peel but I dont mind it, i understand how some people would though. Other then that great product.

Taste like water mixed with hydrogen peroxide because that's what it is. It will leave a gross white film on your tongue after the second or third use. Brush your tongue like a madman and use a tongue scraper to avoid this because seriously nobody wants to see that. It's essentially a very weak bleaching agent, you will not see results for at least a few weeks, and when you do, they'll be very minor. This stuff should ideally be used after you've bleached your teeth with a kit or at the dentist or something to maintain your white smile, not to magically transform your hillbilly butterscotch-brown teeth into a magical celebrity blinding white.

This product is awesome. I can't believe some of the other babies on here reviewing this, seriously, grow up. If you can't read then you shouldn't buy things, IT'S NOT A MOUTHWASH JACKTARDS. The flavor isn't very good but it's not something to whine about either. The foaming took me by surprise but after a couple uses, I didn't mind since I was brushing my teeth soon after anyway and after I brush, it feels like my mouth is sparkling clean. The price/use ratio is good as well. I say give it a shot. For the drama queens on here, I saw some Spongebob training dental hygiene products in the same area I found this, I suggest you use those from now on.

The first (and only time) I used it it made every tooth in my mouth along with my gums hurt like hell! The back of my tongue also feels swollen. What is in this crap? And don't tell me it's the peroxide, I mix peroxide with water and use that regularly and it does not hurt! This product is going down the drain.

I have been using this product now for a week and will be throwing the remainder away just as soon as I get home. Like many said, the taste is awful, but what I hate most is that it affects the taste of my food and drink. Everything tastes like bitter aspirin. Perhaps they should re-market it as a diet suppliment...because you don't want to eat/drink afterwards. And yes, I do rinse after using. The black/brown tongue is a scary and gross thought, how inviting is that?

I love this stuff! After I used this for awhile and went to the dentist she commented how white my teeth are. I am 53 years old and love what this product does for my teeth. Each time I go to the dentist she always comments on their whiteness. She wanted to know what I was using and reccommends it to other people.

I already have pretty white teeth but bought this product to keep them that way. It left a not so good taste at the back of my tongue even after brushing but i just rinsed my mouth out with water a few times and used a tongue scraper and it went a away after that. The tongue scraper really helps cause it takes the gross taste off of your tongue just rinse with water before and after. I would never use this twice a day for several weeks though.. I use it once a week or 2 times a month. If you have pretty white teeth its not a good idea to use this everyday especially twice a day. Two to three times a month should help maintain keeping your teeth white if you brush your teeth regularly. This stuff is not too good for your teeth. Use a whitening toothpaste the rest of the month. I use sensodyne whitening plus and it works great. I went to a hygienist and she said teeth were perfect surprised how white they were especially because of all the coffee drinking and diet soda and gums were grea... Read more

I have been using Listerine's new Whitening Pre-brush rinse for about 2 weeks now and after the first week I started noticing the difference. My fiance can't stand the taste so he wont use it and although I agree that it does taste nasty, it works great! Use it before you brush your teeth, twice a day, then brush and then use a regular mouth wash. If you ignore the taste for a 60 seconds to swish the rinse around then spit it out and brush your teeth, then its fine. No problem and teeth do get whiter!

I was very excited to try this product and used it faithfully as directed. I began to notice that my tongue felt swollen near the back of my throat. Much to my horror my tongue was black and very sensitive. I hope that this will go away after I stop using this product. I do not recommend this product to anyone!

I used it faithfully twice a day for a few weeks. My tongue began to feel fuzzy, all the way at the back of my throat. I looked at it in the mirror and it was brown. Cue to head to the internet. Sure enough, there is a condition called hairy tongue, black or brown. It's caused by the good bacteria in your mouth being killed off by substances such as peroxide being used as a rinse daily. One of the top ingredients listed is peroxide. Not meant to be used daily, much less twice a day. I poured the rest of the bottle out and won't be buying it again.

I am so excited I found this product. I have always had yellowish teeth, and had some success with Crest White Strips (which I still plan to use twice per year). However, I've never achieved the desired whiteness. The Listerine Whitening pre-brush rinse is so easy to use and the results are terrific. I love my white teeth! Who cares about the taste? It's NOT mouthwash. I will buy it forever.

It's the worst mouthwash I ever use. It left a bad taste in my mouth for more than 24 hrs. It worst than accidentally used the soap by mistake.

i desperately wanted whiter teeth because i was always drinking nescafe and playing around with pepsi in my mouth which stained my teeth, this product however after the FIRST use, i felt the tip of my tongue burning intensely and i dont know if it happens to anybody else and i'd really like to kno if anyone else has this. the tip of my tongue has become VERY sensitive and my taste has been badly affected; everytime i eat something- i get a slight, buttery taste, NEVER what i'm actually eating and i dont know what its doing to my mouth, or tongue or if i should stop. my regret is that i hv bought my 2nd bottle [bear in mind i was very inconsistent with the first which i had used about 2 yrs ago] and i am really concerned about my oral health and the impact of the listerine..

It does taste like cum but it works good:) I use a combination or white strips, this rinse, expensive BREATHX toothpaste, and flouride rinse and my teeth look like chicklates. ALSO if you want your teeth to look whiter go in a tanning bed and your skin tone will go darker! and it makes your teeth look amasing!

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush does not contain the agents to fight against a very important dentistry disease, Gingivitis.

For some reason when I saw this product, I wasn't all that interested in having my teeth whitened. I just wanted to know what made it "whiten" teeth. However I saw the magic whitener was peroxide....and the light bulb went off in my head. Growing up, my grandmother would dub peroxide as the end all and be all remedy for bleeding or sore gums. And since I'd had some gum issues in the past, I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. The results were great! I haven't had sore gums in ages, and the few times I do smile, people notice I have incredibly white (but not glaringly so) teeth. In fact after skipping out on the dentist for YEARS, my first check up impressed the dentist's office. Gums were in awesome shape....no cavities either but that's neither here nor there. I told him my "secret" and he said to keep up the good work. I use it every morning before I brush my teeth....and cannot live without it! The only downside is you should wait about half an hour after rinsing and brushing t... Read more

All my life, I was 'blessed' with yellow looking teeth. in fact, for years my family dentist informed me to don't even bother with any of those teeth whitening products or professional treatments (even at his own office; costing over $600 for a complete session and lasting only a few months). his explanation was because I had inherented yellow teeth from the get go, these commercial products and treatment options would at best, only make my teeth appear LESS yellow, but never white per se. So, given this doomsday scenario, I didn't bother with any whitning products or services for the next 20 years. I mean, why bother, right?? Why pay big $$$s to have LESS yellow teeth? So, fast forward now to about (2) two weeks ago, around XMAS 2008. While shopping with a friend, we accidentally "paid" for our friend's bottle of Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush rinse. Instead of returning the product back to our friend, I thought, "easy whiter teeth. yeah, right. more marketing crap here. But I a... Read more

I just called and spoke with a consumer representative (1.800.223.0182) re: listerine pre-brush rinse.  It was explained that the white peeling is due to the peroxide in the product bonding to the germs in your mouth.  As for my black tongue, I was not given a reason for that, so I'm going to assume it's caused from the peroxide interacting with something you may have eaten (in my case, some purple tums).

This product works well but it made my mouth peel as well. I was just researching to see if it did that to anyone else or if it was just me and apparently other people are experiencing it too. Something about my mouth peeling makes me think the chemicals might be a little too strong.

I've used this per directions for several weeks, and, not only have I NOT observed any whitening, it has affected my sense of taste, and leaves my tongue temporarily blackened. Unfortunately I bought the double pack at Sams Club, and the second quart is going down the sink now.

I have never used any teeth whitening system and can only compare this to teeth whitening toothpastes. I was impressed with the quick and obvious results. Tastes good. Downside: only whitened so far then stopped. Probably not what you need if you need to whiten several shades but great to whiten teeth a shade or two and also to maintain white teeth.

Great stuff, It works and it's not as bad of a taste as most people say. It really does whitens your teeth. It's alot easier than any other Gel,Strip or anyother whiting system. I buy a bottle every 2 weeks.
