Mediocre fight that will forever be remembered as the fight that inspired Syvester Stallone to write "Rocky" and forever giving Wepner an everlasting 15 minutes of fame.

Sylvester Stallone picked the right fight-and fighter-Wepner,to model 'Rocky' after.But as far as the fight itself went-this was no classic. Wepner,who had been in the ring with serious punchers-he'd been stopped by Sonny Liston,for example,dropped Ali with an assist by stepping on Ali's foot.A much better(or worse)fight was Wepner vs. Andre The Giant-in which Andre picked up Wepner and threw him for at least a mile.
