An excellent literary adptation by Robert Redford. The Scarlett Johanssen and her relationship with every other character, including her equine partner, ring authentic. The outcome of the romance may be predictable as was the risk for critics to have regarded the Redford-Scott Thomas emotional involvement unnecessary; grumblings were there already with Redford in 'Havana' and 'Indecent Proposal'.2
