I love Kentucky Fried Chicken - it's been around for as long as I can remember. My favorite is the original recipe - even though I love crispy chicken their original is the best there is. I also like going to their restaurants that serve the buffet. Great food.

KFC is a big dump. Their chicken needs a massive amount of seasoning and their bread is hard as a rock.

Review for KFC 06.09.11: yesterday I went for the buffet (oh ave location NS pksbg) to try it out and it was kinda crowded. Not too bad activity level. Cashier was average. Not much to report. The buffet looked decently clean. Not much to report here. I got mashed taters and chicken legs. The chicken legs were good as always and the mashed taters were as well. Gravy had decent consistency. Overall our visit was pleasant. Nothing really wrong and it was nice. Increasing 1 star. Very good value for 5 bucks. ----------------------------------------------------------- This is a tale of two locations: One is 7th street Parkersburg the other is Ohio ave. The first one is 7th street location: "The food we get here is low quality. My double downs I get from here are always too greasy. They are not even that warm. The mashed tater were lumpy and the gravy was nasty. They were always extremely slow with drive thru orders. We had to wait 10 minutes the first time and 15 minutes the ... Read more

The KFC in San Antonio, TX on Walzem Road should take their pot pies off the menu until they re-train the staff. I choked on a wishbone in my pot pie May 12 and after being assured by the District Manager and Corporate that something would be done, Guess what? My repeated calls go unanswered, even today 5/31. Be careful, and take small bites. They say they check the chicken twice before they put it in the pot pies, but I guess not. gmn513@gmail

Good, but damn expensive... The popcorn chicken is an ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF, and the pieces have gotten so small in just the past 5 years, you get more breading than you do chicken! I love the Buffalo Snackers, and the Double Downs and Doubliciouses are really yummy... unfortunately, due to the obscene amount of sodium in KFC, I get headaches any time I eat there, but not any other fast food place. Still, really good chicken.

This place used to be the bomb back in the day. Chicken was so delicious and good quality, Now it has gone to the dogs with over priced chicken, bad quality and way too many Mexicans working in the kitchen and not to mention the dirty dining areas in almost every location that I have been to in Houston tx.

My favorite KFC 'meal' are the garlic mayonnaise sauce and the crispy strips (and they go perfect together). Oh, and they give you those cool wet wipes with every menu.

OMFG! The colonel himself is rolling over in his grave right now because someone is really F-ing messed up the recipe book. The last time I order some "original recipe" from the local KFC, it was like eating a bucket full of tasteless, slimy, Crisco! Not to mention, there was enough greasy goo left in the bottom of the bucket the next morning to recreate a complete Venus de Milo sculpture. There is less oil coming from the blown out well in the Gulf of Mexico.

I love KFC's chicken pot pies! I think it's the best thing on their menu. Food is made fresh the majority of the time, I'm not a big fan of their original chicken though. Their prices are high too! They have a pretty good staff but that varies depending on where you eat. Will keep eating from there.

Not a fan of it. The chicken is dry. Sometimes bland. After the first bite and the skin's gone there's no reason to eat it. For this reason, I can only eat their popcorn chicken (which is pretty delicious) or that one loaded "mashed potato" dish. Besides chicken. The potatoes OBVIOUSLY taste like instant mashed potatoes. The fries are pretty bland. FRANKLY, I miss their old french fries from the early nineties before they switched over to potato wedges. I'm not sure if they still served them--but for a while I ate their pot pies but stopped after I got stabbed in the mouth by a bone.

Went to the one in Geneva NY and the service was friendly but they no longer offer the rice bowl. I was told that's not on any of the menus anymore. BIG mistake that was they only item I liked on the menu. That was the last time I'll go there also the prices are too high for what you get.

This is MSG central. KFC is the unhealthiest of all the fast food chains, and that's saying something considering that they're all nutritional wastelands. At least McDonalds, BK and Wendy's have some moderately healthy items on their menu. The fried chicken is unhealthy, fried with processed oils and seasoned with hydrolyzed proteins and other toxic ingredients. The sides are not much better either. And even the one product that they're marketing as a "healthy" option, their grilled chicken, is seasoned with MSG, along with another compound that has been found to cause cancer. Sounds like its back to the drawing board for KFC? With all the other grilled chicken joints in the market that offer truly healthy options, why would anyone looking for nutritious food choose KFC? People's tastes have been changing, as greater awareness of healthy eating habits increase. KFC knows this, that's why they've been trying to rebrand themselves for some time. They even changed their name t... Read more

Once every couple of years the smell from the KFC near my house draws me in and I have a few pieces of salty crispy chicken and fries. The indigestion usually kicks in about an hour later but can be deferred a little if you take a couple of packages of those alcohol wipes, open them up and swallow them to dillute the solids forming on the lining of your stomach.

OMG someone MUST do something about the drivethru service at the KFC/Taco bell store in Port Angeles Washington 98362, it has to be the worst, continiously TERRIBLE service in the country, terribly, TERRIBLY SLOOOOOOW, and highly inaccurate, they screw up about 40% of the orders, and you cant get out of line, which even if theres just 2-4 cars ahead of you, can take 20 minutes, I hate myself eevrytime i give them another try, you can seriously sit you whole lunch break there in line, if it sounds like i have a grudge, I DO, this slow poor service has gone unchecked for years and i cant believe noones ever done anything about it, its a joke how often I see the last car in line backing out, its the only car that can, its a gauntlet of misery getting in that line, SOMEONE, please help !

Some years ago when I was single and young, it seemed that every other week someone in my circle of friends was moving. The "beer and chicken" move became the standard, with the volunteer moving crew sprawled among the boxes in the new digs, scarfing KFC and swigging beers. Everytime I catch the smell of this now, it brings back these pleasant memories of a more carefree time. About once a year I actually buy some, which dims my enthusiasm a little.

We've always gotten the same thing at KFC: the 8 piece meal with sides of mashed potatoes & coleslaw, and 4 biscuits. The chicken was always great and worth the money. Over the years it seemed to lose it's quality... but tonight's dinner was the last straw. The menu has gotten so complex and confusing! The senior citizen in front of me wanted chicken and a biscuit. The cashier offered him 4 confusing ways to order it: this meal or that platter, these sides with those, etc etc. The poor man just wanted 3 pieces of chicken and a biscuit! This confusion makes the line move painfully slow and causes the employees to make errors. I stood in line for 30 minutes. I could have called in a take-out order to a better restaurant in that time. I got my food home: the chicken pieces are the smallest I've ever seen... it looked like fried Cornish Hen. The "original recipe" tasted bad and was barely edible... it was too peppery. The chicken was dried out & rubbery, like it sat too... Read more

3 years ago, i was craving a chicken sandwich and used to LOVE kfc's chicken, so i decided to stop there and order one through the drive-thru. however, as i got home, i came to find it was far from the pleasant experience i was used to. not only did i find strange hard & crunchy bits in the chicken, a few hours later i wound up puking all of it and was horrified to find everything was black. since then, i shudder every time i see a commercial on tv and even more as i pass one by. actually, it's extremely hard to get me to even eat chicken now. kfc definitely gave me a horrible memory.

The last time I went to KFC it sounded like a great idea. It turned out being the worst choice we could ever make! Our food was cold and lame, the dining area was all dirty, and the service was terrible. The gravy on the poutine was cold and the cheese was slimy and not melted. The last thing anyone wanted to eat was the yucky cold chicken. KFC franchises are just terrible!

In September of 1987 my parents bought us some Kentucky Fried Chicken and it was great. It was some of the best chicken that I'd ever eaten. But when we got some more in early 1988, it was awful. The pieces of chicken had very little meat on them, the mashed potatoes and coleslaw weren't in cups and they gave me a pathetic roll instead of a biscuit. Serving me Kentucky Fried Chicken without a biscuit was terrible. Now adays if you want more meat on the pieces of chicken, you have to pay extra. That sucks. Colonel Sanders sold his restaurants in 1965 and at some point the new owners changed his recipe. It may not have 11 herbs and spices anymore. Years ago Mom saw Colonel Sanders on television and he was having a fit because the owners changed his recipe. If you want good chicken, go some place else.

I stopped going to KFC a few years ago concerned about the fried foods effect on my health, so when I heard that they had grilled chicken I thought, WOW, lets try it. I went to the one on Baseline in Rancho Cucamonga, CA close by my home. What an unbelievable disappointment. The white haired dude would turn over in his grave. The grilled chicken was so dried out it was hard to chew and tasteless and absolutely so small that a 10 piece bucket filled the bucket less than one third. It was more like Kentucky Grilled Pigeon although that's an insult to the pigeons as they are plumper than the crap they put in my bucket. For $18 you get a meal for one in 10 pieces of tough chicken jerky (but with the bones still in). The sides were as I remembered, mashed potatoes and gravy were as expected and O.K. (how hard is it to screw that up) and the coleslaw was to my liking and better than I've had elsewhere. So I guess if I want grilled chicken I'll have to go to El Polo Loco or another c... Read more

If breading and grease is what you're craving and you couldn't care if there was a piece of chicken inside that deep-fried ball of crust then this is your place! Indeed sometimes that's what we want but not even in the actual state of KENTUCKY where I had this the last time was it a good experience, not even for the novelty of it. The food was really cruddy quality, the service was bad, the workers slovenly and the sides were starchy and tasteless. I've given this place second, third and fourth chances and I wonder if I'm just plain crazy at this point. Do yourselves a favor and open up a Roy Rogers franchise so you never have to gamble on bad chicken again.

They've gone downhill the last couple years. Their original recipe chicken pieces seem to be getting anemic. The 'new grilled' also seems pretty dry the last 2 times I tried it. The sides are USUALLY good but seem to be getting inconsistent in quality. Customer service, which I usually don't care about, has been notably bad my last couple visits as well. KFC is not one of my top choices anymore.

Disclaimer: This review is about the Apopka, FL restaurant only. I typically like KFC's food, it's just that management, or mismanagement varies from store to store. My family went to KFC, figuring that we all liked the food and had just gotten back from vacation and wanted something fairly quick. My brother ordered a two piece meal, all white meat. He received a breast, OK, and a wing, HUH? "Since when is a wing white meat" I asked the manager? Her response, "As long as I've been working here". My wife and sons mashed potato bowls were both cold. When I mentioned that to the manager, she said with a nasty look on her face "what would you like us to do". When I asked if there was a district manager I could contact, she simply said "No". I did contact KFC about the matter and was dismayed to receive a $5 guest check to make everything OK. Not gonna happen. KFC has lost this family for life.

The following is about a KFC in Powder Springs, GA. I ordered a Chicken Pot Pie, expecting it to be good (as my mom told me she loved those but hadn't eaten one in years), and as I was eating it I tasted this disgusting, sour presense. Turns out it was old and the gravy had gone bad. I don't blame the recipe: I blame the careless workers who don't give two hoots about their job or anyone ordering the food. I mean, these people were zombies! When I talked to the manager, he offered me another free Pot Pie. Now if I didn't like it the first time, what makes you think I want another one?

I like KFC, but I don't eat there too often because it is kind of expensive. The mashed potato bowls are GREAT!! The popcorn chicken is good and the strips are good. The fried bone-in chicken is often too greasy but it still tastes good. As far as sides go, I only eat the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and biscuits, although my mom loves their cole slaw. I would say it's great, but it always seems like no matter which KFC I go to I always seem to get slow service. The employees are nice enough though.

We must be getting soft as a culture. Today there were protests when KFC ran out of grilled chicken to give away in exchange for Oprah's coupon promotion. Gothamist reported, The people there are currently holding a sit-in and refusing to leave until they get their free chicken...or the cops are called. Since when was chicken a civil right worth protesting about? It's not just the KFC people, it's the guy who calls 911 twice when Subway leaves the sauce off his sandwich. But I digress. The important thing is that KFC tastes awful, and would not be worth wasting time on even if they were giving away the store. I like fried chicken but this stuff is greasy and not at all crispy.

I remember liking it as a kid; then again, there wasn't a whole lot I didn't like eating as a kid. I purchased it at the drive-through window once or twice in recent years when I was in a hurry, and I could practically feel the grease moving like sludge through my veins towards my heart as I ate. Added to which, I found it pretty tasteless and bland. I don't contemplate eating it ever again, although as fast food goes, I'm sure it's no more dangerous than any of the other crappy chains out there. Side note: I've noticed when I drive through inner-city neighborhoods like Newark, Jersey City, and Paterson (which I don't do very often if I can help it), there are fried chicken places with names like "Kansas Fried Chicken" or "Arkansas Fried Chicken" or even "Kennedy Fried Chicken". Does the Colonel know about this? Does Ted Kennedy?

I went to the drivethru at the KFC/Taco Bell in Exeter, PA and was given a cold sandwich. When I asked for a hot one, I was given back the same sandwich, nuked within a inch of total meltdown, wadded up in a ball inside the wrapper. The manager gave a refund.

I grew up with Kentucky Fried Chicken down the street. Original Recipe was spicy and absolutely great. Never got a bad meal - never greasy, never dry, great service. Fast forward 30 years and the Colonel has been replaced by KFC in Troy, OH. KFC displays a big sign advertising Original Recipe--it is a lie. There is zero spice on "Original Recipe". Awful stuff, soggy, dry and on the expensive side. Can't eat the stuff without adding salt & pepper and you can count on a stomach ache from the grease. The once spicy gravy is now bland & pasty. Bury KFC and bring back Colonel Sanders. If you can't bring back the Colonel send Popeye to Troy. Until then I'm frying my own chicken at a fraction of the cost and everyone loves it.
