    Celebrated our tenth anniversary. Not a single complaint. Great food, great wine, A++ service. Worth the money. Best service we have had at any restaurant. Best steak I have ever eaten. I did burn the roof of my mouth on the first bite but then again I was super hungry and could not wait to taste the steak. Next time I think I would wait a minute before eating. Food comes out very hot on the 500 degree plates.

    We went to Ruth' Chris in uptown Charlotte,NC for a special Christmas Dinner in lue of exchanging gifts ,well we should have done the latter. Very overpriced , 4 out of 6 of the filets had quite of bit of grizzle in them.The coconut shrimp was so over done and dried out, their Ceasar salad tasted like a plain water dressing ,absolutely no taste. And then to finish of our tasteless meal ,the Creme Buele came with a partially burnt top. The one thing I do have to say was the service was good, our waitress was very cordial and we shared some common interesting places to eat in Buffalo,NY ,her mouth was watering... We would have to say you get a better dinner at Longhorn and for alot less money, our bill came to 700.00 for 6 of us.

    The Ruth Chris in Beverly Hills is horrible. Everything was flavorless, no salt, no pepper. The side dishes were steamed and brought out, nothing had a taste to it. The place looked like a Sports Bar. I said no butter on my steak and it came out with butter and the server kept saying I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I make a better steak and side at home under $60. If you want real good steak and sides to die for go to BOA. Will never go to Ruth Chris again.

    The one in Boston is all atmosphere! Gorgeous and quaint located in the Old City Hall. The salad was great, the steak was severely oversalted and just ok tasting. I ordered shrimp & steak, the shrimp were, well, shrimpy and tasteless. The "hollandaise" sauce on the asparagus I'm pretty sure was mayonnaise. The "garlic" mashed potatoes were supposedly enough for two but just barely and they had no garlic taste. I'm not sure why they have to serve your meal on a plate that could potentially give you 3rd degree burns either. I've eaten at plenty of other places were the food was magnificent and it didn't require a 500 degree plate. The bill came to $178 for two - highly, highly, highly overpriced. Will never go again.

    1 star Very disappointing! Never again. We were celebrating our anniversary and my husband (bless him) surprised me with these reservations. We usually celebrate our anniversary at Oceanaire in Seattle but unfortunately it closed. The service was good - not exceptional. Appetizer - calamari - all grease, Caesar salad - no taste and warm but the croutons were good. Then the meal! Umm steak and lobster. Well the steak was so salty I couldn't eat it, lobster was tasteless. Veggies - garlic mashed & asparagus. No garlic taste in potatoes and loaded with butter to where it made you sick. Asparagus - wasn't even green. Overcooked and the hollandaise sauce was cold. So the steak was sent back then received with loads of butter, no seasoning and rare when I had ordered Med. Third time I refused the steak. Desert & coffee were probably highlight of meal. Was up all night! Sorry Babe, I know you meant well.     I've eaten at four of these, and they are pretty much basic chain steak houses, with stand alone steak house prices. They sell a brand, an attitude and a mystique. I love steak houses, and I have absolutely no objection to paying top dollar in them when they're worth it. This place isn't.

    For two of us to eat the price was $130. Both steaks were over cooked and the potatoes came out at just slightly over room temperature. I've eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the U.S. and Great Britain. I've had some fantastic steaks at places like Hudson's on the Bend in Austin or Benton's in Kansas City. Ruth's Chris is no better than I would expect to find at the Outback Steakhouse, but at 4 times the price. Folks do yourselves a favor, if you want to eat at Ruth's Chris, tell your boss that you want that for a gift certificate at Christmas. Do not waste your money on what is supposed to be a fantastic steak at a premiun price. Search the reviews for your locale and find someplace that is very good and special. Do not spend your own money at the Burger King of steaks. If you do decide to dine at Ruth's Chris, the demand that your server show you the steak before they cook it. Learn a bit about grading beef and know for sure that the are serving what they advertise... Read more

    We have been to Ruth Chris Steak house three times twice in Seattle and once in Bellevue. The first time was in July of 2008 It was our wedding anniversay and the waiter offered us a toast of champange.which it made it very special. The second time was in Bellevue before we saw the nutcracker suite. The waitress offered us a glass of champagne to celebrate. The third time was on July 25 2009 in Seattle this time for the celebration the waiter gave us Creme Brule which was very good. Every time the service has been marvalous and the delicious .     Oh my!!!!!!! For the true Carnivore in all of us! The meat here is amazing and always cooked just the way you ordered it! The plate comes out sizzling hot and you are ready to endulge! Everything is a la carte and yes, it is expensive! But very worth it for special occasions. I have been to a few different locations and I always have found top notch service here too. If you need a classic steak house to take someone special to, I'd pick Ruth's Chris!

    I have gone to Ruth's Chris in two different locations, NY and Hawaii. The one in Hawaii was really nice and we made reservations at a time when it really wasn't busy, so the service was awesome. The one in NY is also good too, although it does depend on what time you go and the day of the week, just like any other restaurant. It is not a place that I go to on a regular basis, but is nice for special occasions. The food is really tasty and I have never had anything that tasted bad from the place.

    I’ve gotten mixed reviews from friends about Ruths; I’ve resisted it until last night. I drive up and wouldn’t you know it… the place was having renovations done. Great! …I’m going to have saw dust seasoning on my steak. Actually, once inside, I couldn’t even see where the work was being done. I ordered the NY strip, it was good, but I’ve had just as good for less money. The whinny kids at the next table were having chicken, but they were more into running around their table than eating. Enjoyed a glass of white wine with dinner (forgot the name) It had a bit of that hickory oak taste to it. The whinny kids at the next table were drinking pop. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience, a bit over priced, I should have sent the tab to the parents of the whinny kids.

    a bit pricey, it is not the type of place you'd go every week, but worth every penny for special occasions. pairing wine is a must to get the full experience. the staff are knowledgable and can help you select the perfect wine based on your preferences for taste and price. if you happen to get a server who is not wine-saavy, the manangers are very knowledgeable and happy to assist. the food is the best of all- the steaks are cooked to perfection and if for some reason they aren't to your liking, they fix it- no questions asked. my friend was with me and ordered her steak medium. the steak came out perfectly medium but when my friend decided she then prefered medium-well, they took it back to fix it to her liking with no hesitation. on a whole, the service is top notch, they literally often anticipate your needs! soda refills, extra side plates, etc are offered or simply broght to you before you even have a chance to ask for them. as with any other place, there can be an exception with ...     Made reservations in january for valentines day . When we arrived we were taken to a small round table stuck in a corner. We ordered appitizers, and waitied 30 min for the waitress to come back and take our order for dinner. When she came back she asked us if we wanted appitizers . Candle on the table went out, they took it, never returned a new one. Steak was served raw , cold in the middle. Had to stop and wait so I could eat with my valentine. Service was poor, Ruth Chris " Perfection is in the details and we cover them all" Not true, Ruths Chris in fresno river park is very much over rated. I can find better service and less cost at Claim Jumpers and the same quality food!.. Thanks but no thanks. Never again .... VERY OVER RATED!

    I've tried it several times, in different locations, and while the steaks are good, there is no way that it was ever worth the money spent. Maybe if I was screwing the company on an expense account, but not out of my pocket.

    Anyone complaining about Ruth's Chris really has to be a miserable person with a lack of taste buds. I have eaten in almost every one of the great steak houses in NYC, and many others across this country and besides Old Homestead - Ruth's Chris is at the top of my list - as far as quality of steak. People are complaining about the sides? Get 2 if you are that hungry - if you eating at Ruth's Chris another 8 bucks shouldn't make or break you. I've always received great customer service, be it Hawaii, PR, NY, Vegas, Cali, FL, Buffalo - the list goes on - so I don't know where you people are eating... perhaps you are just not used to eating anywhere but your local greasy spoon where everyone knows your name... either way whatever.     My girlfriend and I had a terrible experience with this particular Ruth Chris (Toronto). The waiter was rude and condescending, and gave the impression that he didn't respect us due to our age. While at the restaurant the bus boy had dropped our entire meal accidentally just in front of our table and a sharp piece of ceramic had passed by my girlfriends face. Not only did we not receive an apology from the Manager, but he barely had the time to stop and speak to us. Rather he sincerely apologized to the older couple sitting in the booth behind us. When he passed our table and then walked back to talk to us, he merely said "Were going to have to redo your meal....but patience is a virtue" and then turned around and walked away. Nothing was offered to us, nor an apology.     The original location in New Orleans is really an amazing restaurant.  When I was younger Ruth's Chris was our go-to restaurant for special occasions.  It was always delicious and the staff was amazing.  Now that it's a huge chain quality has really gone down, and prices have stayed the same.  The food is similar to any of the run of the mill chain restaurants.  I've been to quite a few different RCs and none of them match up to the original restaurant in New Orleans.  The RC in New Orleans is now the only one worth going to.

    Over-priced, highfalutin chain restaurant. Our waitress was attentive at first, annoyingly stopping by every few minutes to clear every little crumb from the tablecloth (are staff trained to have OCD?) and interrupt our conversation. She then disappeared after our meal and it took a half hour after we were finished, and looking around for someone, to get the check and receive our card back so we could leave. Don't bother eating anything but the steak if you're so inclined, and be prepared for a big bill due to the family style dishes. The sides were toted as being big enough for two or more people to share, but this did not appear to be the case (I do not have that large of an appetite!), and they were less than worth the $8 apiece. When I pay that much for a meal (about $75 each with a glass of wine and dessert) I'd prefer to have something to take home for later, but no avail despite having bread, salad, main dish, and one side.     The best place for steak. Keep one thing in mind If you think paying $12 for a steak is a good price, then do not go to Ruth Chris; it is NOT for you. This is a place where people pay good ($$$$$) money for good food. Expect to pay $150.00+ for two people. If you order a good wine, expect to pay about $500.00. This is not a place for the lower to middle class; primarily for the upper class...

    I ate at two outlets of this chain, one in Hawaii and one in New York, ten years apart.  The food was below-average and was very expensive for what I got.  This is a typical example of the onerous American practice of selling a brand rather than the underlying good or service it attempts to provide.  This is doing things ass-backwards, which is also typical of those pinheads making the decisions in Corporate America.  No wonder the economy is in the terlet.  Too many idiots with absolutely no talent, armed with over-valued M.B.A.s, have slowly but surely ruined the U.S. economy and developed a culture of sub-mediocre goods and services.  Yet, they line their pockets handsomely for their underperformance.  Where can I sign on?  Where else in the Ponzi scheme can you be incompetent and still get paid ten times your actual worth?

    Phoenix, AZ. Went to try the $89.00 Summer Celebration special. My advice, save your money.Service was poor and waitress had a bit of an attitude.We had to ask for bread and we had to ask for water refills.Gumbo was too salty.Salad was good. An oversight, I'm sure.We were not warned that the plates were hot and my wife burnt two of her fingers trying to move her plate to where she could reach it because the server didn't place it in front of her.I ordered my steak rare, but it wasn't seared on the outside – it looked kind of like a micro waved gray blob. The steak was cold almost all the way through and way too salty.Wife's steak, med-rare was OK.The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and the sautéed mushrooms were under cooked, but drowned in butter sauce.The apples in the apple pie were like rubber and the scoop of ice cream was the size of a thimble.All in all, poor service and mediocre food at exorbitant prices.

    La Jolla, CA - on my birthday we waited for thirty minutes after our reservation time. The meal was way overpriced and when the steak arrived it was swimming in butter and salty. The service was slow and indifferent - the waiter banged the bread down on the table and said "There you go". They asked us how we liked it! Ugh!

    Update: After learning that my cancer had gone in to remission, my parents, wife, son, and I needed to celebrate. There could be no better place in my mind then Ruth's Chris. The steaks were magnificent as always, the drinks were good, and the service and atmosphere were second to none. I ordered a rack of venison which was amazing. What other chain even dares to offer a meal like that? I have been to three separate Ruth's Chris locations over the years and have never left without being 100% satisfied. My most recent experience only renewed my belief that this is the best chain restaurant in the United States. With their prices they are obviously not for everybody. I certainly can't afford to eat here besides special occassions. However, I definitely believe that the prices are worth the experience.Very expensive, but worth it for special occasions. Food is great and service is as well.

    This Place is great, I visited the naples fl, Ruth Chris, and It was excellent, they even had the restaurant divided for casual and dressy which I thought was a smart idea, They give you the matching napkins , if wearing dark you get the black napkins if wearing light you get white. There Chicken ..WOW.. and the Steak OMG!!! Now when I went to the Estero one, they didn't have as much detail as naples, The Service was great especially with The kids. They even got dessert On them For being so good. Going again This weekend.. LOVE it!

    Wow. Never has a nice night out been spoiled so fast as when an over zealous manager (Kim) asserts her power to turn our evening upside down. In the midst of enjoying a fine dinner and having two other friends join, Kim insisted we move (fire code?) and gave us two (2) minutes to do so offering to aide us in the move. As it turns out we did not move in her two(2) minutes allowed and she decided we were persona no gratis and there would be no dessert for us. We had to move all our meals our selves and the only thing we saw from then forward was the check. She said she was the manager and we were not welcome. What a mistake on Ruth Chris' part to bring a manager from Minneapolis to Santa Barbara. She is clueless on the level of service needed for this area. Good Luck Ruth Chris Santa Barbara

    Pricey but you know that going in so enjoy. Good atmosphere, good wine selection and the steaks are pretty good too especially if I don't feel like grilling. However they do need to do something about the ala carte concept. At least let me feel I'm getting some value for my $80/plate dinner party.

    I took my wife to Ruth chris in Virginia Beach. My advice, keep your money in your wallet. The Prime Rib was marinated in rock salt prior to cooking. Something to do with allowing steaks to cook and maintain rareness throughout the beef. At any rate the salt permeated the dish. At $37 dollars an entree I cannot get two vegetables to accompany my meal. orders of vegatables were on average about $7.00 each. They were accommodating whenI complained removing my wifes entree from the bill and allowing her to replace it with a complimentary entree. Overall, I can do much better for much less.

    I've always found the food and the experience to be pleasant, but then I have never paid for a Ruth's Chris night out, that's corporate's job! I've had better for equal cost and far better for more (of course!) and even equal for less cost but they are a very consistent chain to my experience. I'd have to say that one of my favorites so far has been St. Elmo's Steak House in Indy. It may have just been a good night with a good chef, with a good waiter with a great group of guests.

    I've eaten at several of the outlets and found it to be a reliably good steakhouse. I suggest sticking with large hunks of beef, and try the finely cut fries and the tomato salad. It's definitely pricey, but such is the way of the world these days that a 20% increase in quality demands double the price. Service is almost always very good, but it fails from time to time; fetch the manager immediately when it's not up to snuff. At those prices, there is no excuse for poor service, and management does seem to understand that. I cannot imagine how Bob's Big Boy coould possibly outrate Ruth's Chris!

    My mouth waters just thinking about the food here! A fellow model, who is originally from Sweden, and I went here...we got the best service one could expect! Inga had the Carpaccio Tenderloin, while I had the Ahi Tuna. we both loved our appetizers. I went for the veal chops...gosh, the milk-fed veal is tender as advertised. Inga loved her filet. We actually shared our entrees...it was just soooo good. The last time I had tried the fresh lobster (you pick one from the tank!) All their food is good...it is a great dining experience!!

    My family's experience with this restaurant was not a good one at all. It's a total rip off with that stupid family style way of serving things. And our waiter was so gay it wasn't even funny. On top of that the food wasn't good. Never again.

    As far as chain-owned steakhouses go, this is the nation's best. Consistently top quality and always a treat. Elegant, tasteful and none of the fake-Aussie or -Texan hoopla that is aimed at the masses. Obviously you pay a little more for quality, but it is always well worth it. Have eaten in their restaurants in NYC, Washington, D.C. and Florida - quality never varies in food or service, it is always top-notch for a chain.

    By far my favorite restaurant. I've eaten at locations in New Jersey, NYC, and Cancun- they're great all over. I'm a huge fan of the NY strip. I just love how it's served on that sizzling plate dripping in butter and seasoning. Their appetizers are phenomenal as well. I recommend the shrimp ramolade, coconut shrimp, stuffed mushrooms- they're all great as well. On the side you can't go wrong with the huge baked potatos and spinach in cream sauce. I'm starving just thinking about it!

    Ate at the one in Honolulu. The filet was as good as I ever had. The second time, I took my wife to the one in Fort Lauderdale. It wasn't as good as my first experience (and she was not impressed). At $50 a steak, anything below 5 stars is a disappointment.

    Given the high ratings, I have to go to this place in the states, it sounds quite good. If you visit Toronto RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE. Getting a bad steak is one thing. Getting a steak that was once a beautiful peace of meat but now looks like it's been cooked in napalm and arrives ice cold is another. The only place I've ever called a waitress a slack ass, lazy bitch...she actually said What? No tip? at the end of the meal

    I took my parents to Ruth's Chris in Orlando for their 55th wedding anniversary. I could not have made a better choice. My experience was outstanding, as was the food and service. The steaks were superb as was everything else that was ordered. Even the coffee seemed to be a several cuts above the average blend. When they heard that it was my parents anniversary, without asking for any verification, they gave them dessert on the house. They were treated like royalty. It was worth every penny.

    This place has the best steaks that I have ever eaten. Prices are expensive but the food and service are commendable so I'm willing to pay for it. One thing to keep in mind is that everything is a la carte, meaning that if you order a steak you get only the steak. Remember to place the order for side veggies and potato.

    This place looks like such a dump, and I think, now I'm not 100% sure, but I think that someone let them cater my reletive's party, and I hated their steaks, they were really cold and rotten and the wait for them was bad.
