About Computers are a tool of Satan.
According to numerologist Christians, computer use should be avoided at all costs, and here's why: the Bible says the "number of man" is "6", so numerologists juxtapose the English alphabet alongside an incremental addition of the number "6" (A=6, B=12, C=18, D=24, and so on). If you add the cumulative value of the letters that spell the word "computer", you wind up with "666", the "mark of the beast"!

Er, computers are extremely useful tools that will ultimately lift humankind into the future. Sure, there are hackers out there and people who will use computers to steal and cause general chaos, but there are many more people out there working to counter them. Ultimately, computers are good.

Amen a second time. Remember, judge the wielder of the tool, not the tool itself, for what is produced. They did it, the tool helped.

True enough, Numbah. If people using their comps for corruptable things can blame it on satan, then I guess the drunk driver can blame it on the car when he's up on manslaughter charges, the mad man who went on a shooting spree could blame it on the gun, and, a child who carries scars from child abuse would only remember the objects which were used in the process.

If computers are a tool of satan, then why do so many churches use them on a daily basis? Why do Christians use the Internet for evangelism?

I was informed of this dastardly skullduggery from a pair of street-fair interlopers (who were on the verge of being stoned by irritated patrons who just wanted their $4.50 keychains and funnel cakes). The amusing part was that the speaker's partner-in-crime was busy checking e-mail on a Blackberry!! I sarcastically mentioned the contradiction, and the guy already had his excuse ready: the Blackberry is a "PDA", and if you add those "letter values" up (using the same method they espoused), you get "126"; add the "2" and "6" first (for "8"), then subtract the "1", and you get "7" (which the Bible says is the "number of God"). I laughed so hard I nearly spilled my lukewarm Mountain Dew!! They could see they were getting nowhere with me, split up, and tried their monkeyshines elsewhere. I STILL shake my head at the foolishness people find to engage in.
