If I could have put no stars here, I definitely would have. Yesterday was my brother's birthday and we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. They drove in from out of town(they live in a little remote town outside of Phoenix AZ) just for his birthday. We were going to get dinner, and then go bowling after. We never made it to bowling, and we almost did not make it to dinner. We were told we could not call ahead and make a reservation and that they would not start getting a table ready for us untill the whole party was there. When we showed up at the restraunt I went in to make the reservation. I was very clear that we had a party of 12, and would also need two high chairs. I verified with the rep at the front desk about three times to make sure there was no confusion. 12 chairs, and also two high chairs. We were a large party so we understood there might be a wait. I was told there were only three other large parties ahead of us, one for eight, one for ten, and one for 12. So ... Read more

I was meeting friends there last night, 1/28/11. We had asked for a table for 7 and were told we had to wait. There were many tables open. We only have 75 minutes to eat before we start bowling. I had to walk to the bar for a drink. I have never been told I could not have a table for 7 or any number before in my life. I did speak to a manager, she wasn't even 25 years old.. how degrading not to be able to get a table because there wasn't enough of us there yet. lol Needless to say, I can have a table at 50 other local places. I will NOT be back to Road House. Which reminds me, years back, my husband had a burger there after a piano recital that smelled like ROAD KILL. I have only gone there since that smelly burger, because my daughter loves the buns and the bowling ladies like the special. I'll stay home if anybody decides to go here again. :) Enjoy your day, and seat customers. :) Sincerely, Darcie Sinclair

The Texas Roadhouse in Provo, Utah is NOT worth it. The music was so loud I had to shout at the person across the table in order to talk to her. The service stunk. The food was mediocre. I won't be going back. Try the Lonestar Steakhouse if there's one close to you. It is WAY better!!!

Personally, I'd rather eat at the Texas Schoolbook Depository. Second rate steak served barely warm, disinterested service, mediocre bar and a noise level that drowned out the jackhammers in the street outside. Once was enough for me, thanks, although I did like the peanuts and the shells on the floor. I'll stand by my preference for stand alone restaurants and keep avoiding chains as much as possible.

I go to the TRH in RoFo in PA and I enjoy my weekly dinner's there with my family. We have gone before and felt like we did not know who the heck was our server...so now we call ahead, both to reserve a table, get our fav server and to ensure that they have prime rib. We always get the blooming onion for my son (seems salty as a leftover though) and we get the prime rib 16 oz with loaded sweets and perfect ceasar salad. We often chow down on the delicious rolls with the cinnamon whipped butter until our ranch cheese fries are here. My son always get's the two little hamburgers on the kids menu, and my husband and I share the prime rib...and always have a large doggy bag to go home too. We get water (no soda) since the food is not diet food:-) but we enjoy it. I used to be a fan of Outback, but once when TRH was out of prime rib we went to outback and it was no comparison to TRH. So now if Texas does not have the prime rib we just don't go. Only complain I have is if I don't get my f... Read more

This is possibly the worst restaurant meal my husband and I have ever had. We were in Seaford, Delaware, searching for a place to eat and decided to try Texas Roadhouse. We were taken by a meat case and asked if we wanted to pick out our meat, which we thought was weird and reminded us of a "Frasier" TV episode. We were given a free "baby blossom" appetizer since it was our first time at the restaurant, which was nice. I ordered the filet medallions with portabello mushroom sauce. What I was served were three little lumps of fat held together by a few shreds of beef. They were completely inedible and made me want to throw up since I can't deal with fatty meat, which is why I always order filet!! Our waitress came by and asked how our meals were, and I told her I couldn't eat mine. She said "We've been getting a lot of complaints about the filet medallions." So how come they were still serving them? She brought me another meal with a different cut of steak which was okay. The... Read more

I went to one of these in Indianapolis once, and while I guess if nothing else it would beat going to White Castle, it wasn't special. "Roadhouse Blues!" " Going to the Roadhouse, gonna have a re-al ...passable steak! I think you would get a better meal at a Texas Whorehouse than a Texas Roadhouse.

The Texas Roadhouse brand is nothing but spectacular. From their food to their prices. People do not understand that not everything in life is perfect and will not always be 100% perfect. Those who never worked in the industry will especially never understand and cry to get a sympathy free app pass. The TRH is consistant in their food and hospitality. The prices are also not expensive. Anyone who thinks the prices are expensive should eat off of the burger king dollar menu. Complain to them. People dont understand as well that it is peoples JOBS that work there. They are not slaves or to be looked down on. Would you like it if they came to your job (if most of you even have one) and complained non stop to you and didn't pay you? Didn't think so. Great place to eat and enjoy a great atmosphere. Good job!!

We took our son, who is nine, to Texas Roadhouse for a special "end of school year" dinner. He loves steak and shrimp and he has wanted to eat there since they opened. We made our "call ahead" reservation for 6:00 pm on a Tuesday. They seated us immediately and the place was hopping busy; they even asked if we wanted to personally pick out our own steak from the display case, as we were headed to the table. My son thought that was great, since he has never been asked to do that before. The atmosphere was very alive with music and people. It was loud, which as a family with a young child, was great. He could get very silly and not have to worry about keeping his voice down all the time; plus, he could throw his peanut shells on the floor. They asked us what drinks we would like pretty quickly and brought those out just as quickly along with their bread rolls and butter. My son and husband really loved the bread. Dinner, took a little while, I did not look at watch to time it, but it see... Read more

OK so everyone that is ragging on the store are the type of people that just love to complain about everything! i work at a texas roadhouse and its the best job i have ever had! managment is so great to us and we are all like a family. And if our food is so bad then why do we always end up on a hour to hour and a half wait? We all love our jobs THATS WHY WE WORK THERE! The only down fall is when people like the people on this site come in and just feel the need to be jerks and complain about everything and make our lives harder. Other than that it is a great place to eat and to work.

Texas Roadhouse in State College. The service was good, until about 9pm when the staff made it clear by their actions they where ready to leave promply at 10:00pm when the doors close. This has happened the last two times I was there. Last time it was 9:30pm the staff worker stood by our booth watching us, waiting, (with broom in hand), ready to clean the floor as soon as we stood up. Seems like a bunch of spoiled college kids working with no idea what it means to be in the service industry. What a STEAKHOUSE, I ordered prime rib, they were out or maybe it was just too close to 10pm they didn't want to go to the trouble. I ordered a Mojito, the same night, out of fresh mint. I don't want to forget to mention, a STEAKHOUSE with NO steak salad on the menu?????

Texas Roadhouse opened a new location in my area (MN) and some family came up to visit so I thought that we would give it a try. Upon entering I immedietly realized I was in for a disappointment. I had never seen so many workers in my life in one area. It was the amount of workers where you can always tell that the restuarant is a chain. I felt like I was in an ant colony of sorts. We were seated and recieved our drinks. At that time we asked our server if she could change the channel on one of the televisions in the bar to the Twins game that was currently playing. She said that she would try. However, she and the rest of the twenty workers that were just mulling around coudn't seem to figure it out. Instead they put on the Maury Show. After looking at the menu which to me, was inclredibly small with hardly any variety, we ordered our meals and one appetizer. We saw our server far and few in between while we all were parched because there was no one to refill our drinks. ... Read more

Look what they did! http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/roadhouse.a sp I thought the Fort Wayne, IN location of Texas Roadhouse was poorly managed, but I guess it runs in the company. Sad. Their food is mediocre at best and overrated. It looks good, but the taste doesn't match up to the presentation. Not to mention, the management at the Texas Roadhouse in FW doesn't seem to care about their employees. They gave one girl a positive work review and two days later fired her because her "performance wasn't matching up to their expectations", and a short while later fired another girl because a customer complained that she forgot to bring A1 to the table. I just saw that they were hiring again. So apparently, they've fired more people or the remaining servers got fed up and quit. Out of sheer good morale, don't give this restaurant your business. Management needs a wake-up call.

While I am reluctant to give a chain steakhouse a five star rating, my only experience with Texas Roadhouse was really that good. My steak was easily the second best steak I've ever ordered at a restaurant (the best steak I've had in a restaurant cost $44 for just the steak, sides were extra), and was definitely the best reasonably priced steak I've ever had. I ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. Maybe I was just lucky in that I got better than their usual cut of meat, or maybe the cook just happened to take it off the grill at the right moment due to luck, or maybe Texas Roadhouse is really just that good. I can't say, but I was happy. Mrs. Twan also thinks they have some of the best cheesecake around, but I don't know as I don't have room for dessert at a steak place.

I used to eat there about once a month. Then the cooking went down hill. Everytime we would get our order at least 1 of the steaks was not done properly. Then the last time the owner brings me out this piece of meat that looked like road kill. Last straw never again. If you want to be rushed in and out of the place and your food not cooked then go there otherwise stay away.

I like this place and all the ruckus that goes with it. The dancing, loud music, cracked peanut shells all over the place, etc. I don't like to be sat down in those teeny little tables built for two though! Both my husband & I are skinny and one of those still is not big enough for us to eat comfortably. They need better appetizer selections and better dressings for the side salads, and their chili is terrible! Love the Smothered chicken, Dallas Filet is great, but that is about it. Even the ribs taste like they've gone bad. The meals are not large, so you don't get full. It's fun, but nothing special about the food!

Union City, CA's Texas Roadhouse was the best I have seen and ate at so far. Having to buy a meal of pulled pork plus carrots+broccoli with chili was the best thing to get for $9.99. It certainly filled me up and the food had great sweet taste. Sorry for shouting, I NEVER TASTED IT SALTY. It was filling; the chili was the best I tasted (Incredible!) and the pulled pork was cooked and marinated well. It is somewhat of a sporty atmosphere, but it does have its country and deep south cultures melded together to make this good restaurant. Hospitality and the service there were excellent and I will definitely want to go back there again! To conclude, which other restaurant gives you peanuts?

We went to the Fairfield, CA location last night. They told us it would be a 45-60 minute wait so we went to the bar where everyone was very friendly and the drinks not too expensive. We were seated almost 2 hours later. The place was way too noisy, even without the music blaring, and almost intolerable when it was. The food was ok and a decent price, but everything was very SALTY. Salt cooked vegetables, salt on the potatoes (both potato skins and baked potatoes). Large portions of sides, bread, etc. Large clientele. A heart attack waiting to happen.

Until the new NC law that prohibits smoking in restaurants goes into full swing, Non-Smokers beware. The bar is the ceter/focal point of the restaurant as well as the smoking area. All the non-smoking seats are placed within 5-10 feet of the smoking area with no partition or ventilation to prevent the smoke from permeating throughout the whole restaurant. Also, when you order a steak, be ready for it not to be cooked to order. I ordered a steak medium and it came out raw....not rare but RAW, it was ICE COLD in the middle and burnt on the outside. So instead of cooking another piece of steak, the re-fired the same one, now the steak is bleeding all over my plate and tough as shoe leather.....heaven forbid you ask to speak to the manager, he rolls his eyes and doesn't care. Horrible experience. If you want to see the re-fired garbage they sent me, see for yourself.... http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/klockemy/1 246811550.jpg and http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq311/... I refused to pay for it and told them to cancel my order if that was a steak. i told them i didnt order a steak nugget. Ponderosa has better steaks and better service, and thats not saying much. This place is pretty good. If you don't like country music, stay away!! Also, ALWAYS call ahead for a table. If you don't, the wait will generally be around 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I have never had a steak there just because I don't trust steaks that aren't made at a family-owned steakhouse (like Jack's in Tinley Park, IL) However, the other food is fairly good. The grilled portobello chicken is good, especially with mashed potatoes for the side. The baked potatoes are decent, and the rolls are great! Even so, the burgers are not very good. They tend to be rather dry and the bun they are served on is so large that all you can taste is bread. This would not be my first choice if I had an option to eat anywhere I wanted, but it's certainly not terrible. (On a side note, if you're wanting to go to Texas Roadhouse but there is a Logan's Roadhouse also nearby, go to Logan's. It's quite a bit better!!)

We've eaten there several times, service sucks as$. Food was average. We have ordered for "Pickup" and every time our order was missing more than one item if not an entre. This is the restaurant in Elk Grove CA on Calvine/Orchard loop. Employees are obviously incompetent. Tried to give the a second and even third chance but each time the screw it up. Obviously management has no idea how to screen for good employees. So if you want shltty service and have items missing in your order consistantly, this is the restaurant for you.

I don't see what people see in this restaurant. I gave them three chances to change my mind, and every time, they failed. I have eaten their best ribs, best steak, even their salads failed. The prices are high, the servings are very small, the food is just average. For me it is not worth the time or money. I will never go back. If anybody thinks this restaurant is a good place to eat, then, they have never eaten at a good restaurant.

The food was good, it came quickly as well. But... the wait was horrible, when i got there they said 45-60 min. The wait was horrible! it took to hours to get seated. It was a new store, but this was no excuse. I watched as the waiting room filled up and emptied 6 TIMES! as people who cam in after us were seated because their party was larger than ours. i had a party of 3, all parties of 2 and 4 were seated ahead of me EVERY time, my wife bugged them 3 times about it. then, on top of it. the entrance way was so packed that we had to fight to get to the bar to refill our 5$ sodas. as i walked out of the store to go home after we ate, i ran into a friend who was in a party of 4, they waited for 30 minutes and the store was still packed with people waiting to be seated. I will never go back. just be warned, they are looking to make the money, the more people you have the quicker you will be seated, but the smaller your party, the longer it will take. i saw a party of about 8 get ... I've visited the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant in Worcester, MA several times and every single time i've had an excellent experience. The food is always extraordinary, and the servers are always quick and very kind. If any of you are speaking of this particular Texas Roadhouse and give it a 1-star rating, then you should not be listened to. Also, for those of you who are giving any restaurant a 1-star rating, have a logical argument and please at least spell right (Maggie, it's steak...not stake). I have been to this restaurant before and thought it was pretty good. I only had 4 people with me that time. This time I wanted to take some family back. No that did not work. There was only 8 of us. 4 kids and 1 teenager and 3 adults. So we first go in and the music is so loud that the girls behind the counter had to keep asking me what I was saying. Finally they tell me that we can have 2 different tables and they dont have ANY idea how long the wait is or "you can cram in a 6 seater". We asked if they moved tables together they said no that is a fire hazard but we can put a chair on the end of the table. At this point there were 4 different girls trying to talk over the others and the music. They said they would get the manager to come and explain it. She came out and; just like the other girls looked to be about 15. She too said that it is not a fire hazard to have a chair the end of the table but you cant put tables together. One of the most horrific crimes is the killing of police officers, who protect and serve us all. Not so for Texas Roadhouse. Visit this link to learn this restaurant's response to the death of two officers in the line of duty:http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/roadhouse.a spYou may be tempted to chalk this up to the jerk who managed this particular outlet of this chain. The food was great. The first and only time I went there I took my sister there for her birthday. The waiter spilt the whole drink on the table and my sister. His basic concern was to get us another drink but didn't wipe up the table, we did. I had to ask 3 times for him to take the buckets with our wet napkins and ice from the spilt drink away. About 5 minutes after we got our food he came back asking if we needed any thing else or a box for our food. He never asked us if we wanted the 14 oz steak or 16 oz. So I don't know what we got because I never recieved an itemized bill, just the balance. He never asked us if we wanted desert. We would have got some since it was my sisters bithday but by that time we had enough of the bad service.

I love the food at the Texas Roadhouse.  I have never been served a bad meal there.  The prices are midrange.  I like the fact that they give you unshelled peanuts while you wait for your order to be served.  I dislike that some of the other patrons who spit peanut shells on the floor instead of in the handily supplied bucket.  This isn't the restaurant's fault though.  Some people are just not classy.  I haven't had the same terrible service experiences that some of the previous reviewers had so I must assume that the Roadhouse near my house hires from a slightly deeper part of the gene pool.  I'v also never noticed the overtly country redneck atmosphere other reviewers talk about.  Perhaps my local franchise tones it down a bit because of the geographic location (NJ).

Texas Roadhouse in West Haven, CT.... Great place to have a fun afternoon with friends. Very casual. The food is AWESOME. My cuz had the steak and I had the grilled salmon. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. Loved the music... then again, I am a country music fan. There are only two things I did not like (and that's why it's not rated 5 stars), FIRST: the dirt on the floor is not exactly a good look, I didn't like that at all; SECOND: the service wasn't good - - the waitress absolutely ignored my prescence, she would only speak to my male cousin, flirting, etc... which I found rude since she didn't know who I was, I had to really get her attention if I wanted something. (Wrong move since I was the one paying), of course it was probably that particular bimbo... so we'll see what happens next time I visit.

Recently, my granddaughter was given a certificate to your restaurant by her school, but have tried for two (2) weeks to obtain seating for six (6) persons, only take seating for five (5) maximum. Plus the waiting time is over fortyfive (45) minutes, children under 8 do not have patience to wait a long time to eat. Great that your company supports local school achievements with a certificate to your restaurant. A special program or seating needs to be put into place for the those receiving said certificate. The certificate will expire soon and the pleasure of eating at your restaurant will not be experienced by my granddaugther. Restaurant is located in Clarksville, IN
