A likable show. Earl was an unlikable guy who did a lot of wrong doing his whole life. When he wins an instant lottery ticket for $100,000 dollars than gets hit by a car and loses it.He decides he has to change and make up for all of the bad things he has done. he ends up finding his lottery ticket and calls it Karma. Every show he usually tracks down someone he has hurt in some way and make it up to them so he can cross them off of his list. Nice show has some funny momments. Jason Lee does a nice job as Earl, his brother Randy helps him out too.  UPDATE: why is it when something is working just fine someone decides to change it? the third season was a huge jump ship disaster. they went way offbase putting Earl in jail and forgot what the show was about. Trying to make up for the wrongs Earl did. we got so fed up we stopped watching. most likely will not watch next season.

It was pretty funny for a season or two.  As time ticks on though, it seems to have lapsed into a kind of preachiness which sent it hurtling off track and into the inevitable world of "we've exhausted all possibilities" - where writers grasp at straws and storylines become murky and confused.  Probably a few yucks left in it but it has lost its charm for me.

Currently my favorite sitcom, though this past season has been up and down quality wise. But even with that, its still for my money the best sitcom on the air.

Interesting premise, but it wears thin quickly. Reminds me of a low-rent "Raising Arizona"

Pretty good show. A little on the hokey side but a good show.

This show is one of the most original and hilarious comedies in a very long time. Just love it!!

It's definitely a funnier and more enjobable show than the ones that air before it.

I like My Name is Earl I think that it is a unique show.  Earl is a guy that is trying to make it up to everyone he has wronged over the years because he now believes in karma.  My Name is Earl is a funny show and it makes Thursday nights good for NBC because The Office comes on right after.

I have seen a few episodes of this show here and there and I think its pretty funny. A loser makes a list of everyone he ever messed with and sets things right.

I think this is a very unique interesting show. It is not overly hilarious but very entertaining and the acting is excellent. I have a few people like Earl and friends in my family, as much as I hate to admit it. I am sure alot of us do.I also like the fact that his character is trying to do positive things. We have too much negativity in this world.Just think,if everyone followed Earls lead, the world would be a more pleasant place!

I wouldn't watch this show on its own, but putting it in an hour block with The Office makes it worthwhile for me to watch. The premise is interesting, and I enjoy the atypical sitcom that it is. Its not filmed in a studio and doesn't contain a laugh track. The actors do a pretty good job with the show as well. Its not over the top hilarious, but its definitely worth watching.

It is hard to believe that such an oddball comedy is actually on NBC. I just love this show and was hooked immediately when I watched the pilot last fall. That's just good TV!

Best comedy in recent years, from the US and the UK. Why? for a start all the storylines are original and offbeat. Same goes for the characters right from Earl and even characters that dont have the biggest speaking parts like Catalina. Some of the single liners she has are classics. Jaime Pressley is also excellent as trailer park trash Joy. The visuals are as funny as the script right e.g. Crabman and son's matching afros. Hard to pick a favourite show but highlights have to be where he makes amends for ruining Joy's christmases and the golf one where he fools the guy into thinking he's a hole-in-one golfing genius just so he can get free beer. Comedy genius.

Now, I'm not some huge Jason Lee fan. Also, I haven't seen a good piece of programming on NBC for years. Still, this show is nearly a perfect comedy. It's hilarious, full of unexpected twists, and you actually get a good feeling after it. This is arguably the most entertaining show out there today.

Remember the iced tea commercial from Nestea where refreshment is likened to falling in a pool? Earl is that GOOD. Kudos NBC! Kudos Jason Lee and cast!

After Arrested Development & Curb Your Entusiasm, this is the funniest show on TV.

Earl is very refreshing. It's a nice change of pace from the reality crap that has taken over TV

Brilliant! Thanks to the writers for not following the good 'ole formulaic storylines ( a la Joey)! Seriously, very funny, smart and I hope it stays on... "Keep on keepin' on".

Kind of surprising that NBC -- allegedly noted for highbrow comedy -- would stoop to the depths of "Git-R-Dun" Redneck comedy. Earl had occasional moments that were somewhat funny, but I don't see it lasting beyond this season. It is funnier than Friends.
