My wife and I went there for our anniversary the other day. I hadn't been there in about twenty years and my wife, who had never been there, wanted to go because her sister raves about it. The service was good and the restrauant was clean but we found the food to be just ok. My wife ended her dinner wondering what all the fuss is about and I told her that I'm good for another twenty years. Next time we'll hit one of the local places.

Cheesy biscuits and ceaser salad....I could just eat this and rate this palce a 5 star. I also love the crab alfredo, however they have taken that off the menu and that is why I went down to 4 stars. Now I have to order the seafood alfredo, however it is not as good. Get pasta at a pasta place.

Red lobster you have lost your edge to good service and food. Close half your restaurants and start over. You have lost cleanliness, customer service, and a good family environment. What a loss to a legacy and reputation you once had. Stop chasing profits. Jim Boykin

If you order one of their specials when they are running them, it's OK. Otherwise they are overpriced for what they serve.

red lobster is the worst of the worst, the food in not wood and they just want to get your money,my girlfriend and i went there to have dinner not to long ago, we went for the special they had been advertising on tv , it was two complete dinners for two for 30 dollars, we ask the waiter for that special and he stared saying that that special was no good, so why they advertised it if is no good so any way to make it short we end up spending 100,00 dollars for dinner,i will never ever go to red shit any more, sorry about my language,

I have only been to one redlobster in my entire life, and may i say that it is the worst seafood restaurant i have ever been to. None of the food tasted fresh to me, i never got a sense that i would enjoy the food. everything i had either tasted to oily, or to cheesy, and who says you have to put cheese on everything. the service was fine, nice waiters who are trying to earn money. All i am saying is that stepping it up and bringing some fresh flavors would be better, oh and a larger variety of vegetable would be recommended. Just Disgusting

Expensive? Yes. But it is a place that specializes in lobster. What did you expect? I've been to several and Red Lobster seems to have a reputation of having some nice service. Nothing over the top and I appreciate that none of the staff seem WAY TOO CHIPPER like at certain restaurants. The food's pretty good. Nothing amazing. But what I go there for is the cheesy garlic biscuits. Personally, I think it's almost a disappointment I have to order a meal to get my fix of these delicious salty goods!

This place is NOT what it used to be.The quality has gone down, while the price went up.Their food even looks nasty in the TV advertisements. For what it costs to eat at Red Lobster, you could have much better fare in a REAL (family owned) restaraunt.

Bland, working hard at being blander. In my opinion you just don't get good food in a chain restaurant. Mediocre is about as much as you can expect.

My ex loved this joint, so I had to go here and there to humor her. Uninspiring, for sure, yet edible enough for me to survive. Then again, you're talking to the damn MRE gourmet here...

Have not eaten there in years, as I refuse to wait for a table in a chain restaurant. Used to be that the food was okay, but way overpriced. I hear it hasn't changed much in that regard.

Seems like the seafood version of the Olive Garden. I went last night for the first time and it was fairly nice inside, and the server, the "seafood expert" was actually pretty knowledgeable. While the food wasn't incredible, I thought the lobster, and more shrimp than I've ever eaten in one sitting were quite tasty.

After a great experience at a Tucson, Az Red Lobster, I would like to complement the food, Admiral's Platter and Endless Shrimp, and especially the waitress, Kim. Kim was more than a breath of fresh air. She was friendly, attentive and prompt. She was the perfect waitress. Will continue eating at that Red Lobster at Broadway location at the Park Mall for the food and the waitress, Kim.

We love eating here, but I am not giving it 5 stars because it's gone through a lot of transformations in the past few years, that we don't care for. First of all their menu has changed, and now you have to pay for a 2nd side dish. It used to come with the meal. Their salads have shrunk, and so have their lobsters and scallops. Also where the menu claims to have a meal come with sea scallops, they have served me bay scallops instead. And my all time favorite appetizer, the Fiesta Lobster Rolls.....always taste "fishy" now. And they are so inconsistent, where sometimes they serve it alongside fresh pico de gallo and ranch dressing, but sometimes none at all. Their prices have gone up dramatically! I have one important thing to say about this restaurant chain, for you to keep in mind. That Red Lobsters across the U.S. are not all created equal!! I have been to some really good ones, in Elmira NY, and some really terrible ones in Georgia!!! I LOVE their tartar sauce of any that I've ev... Read more

The ones in Florida are just horrible! We just went there today for Father's Day with my parents and grandparents. First of all, there was an hour wait...which was okay since I wasn't overally hungry anyway. When we were seated, we at least waited 20 minutes just to get a waitress to come over and greet us. I inclined a sweet tooth, so I ordered the 'Banana Bay Chocolote Smoothie'. When it came out, the flavor was good...but it was HOT! I don't think anyone wants to consume a hot smoothie, especially in Flordia's humid weather. My grandparents ordered wine, and it was hot as also. She then asked us for our food and I ordered the 'Battered Shrimp' with the Brocolli and Baked Potato. At least a good hour wait for the food to come out. The biscuits are delicious, but not as good to balance out the entree course. When my food came out, I was suprised on how they cut the portions of their shrimp. Their shrimp was tiny; about the size of a quarter. My baked potato was small as also and dry. ... Read more

The food here is the best seafood ever!! The crab legs are great, but it takes a long tome to crack them, and the wait is usually a little long, but that is ok considering they make up for it when you get your food. The service is very good, too. Can be a little on the expensive side here, though.

I love the food here! From their bread, to their shrimp!!!! The quantity is satisfying too. I guess the quality of service depends on where you eat, and in this case, the service was so-so. But I love to eat the shrimp Alfredo at Red Lobsters!

Back in the day, my parents had pretty good taste in restaurants, but as they've gotten older, they've seemed to have become pretty satisfied with some of the ubiquitous chains in the area of north NJ where they now live. I've eaten here with them a few times and, as chains go, it's not horrible or overtly unpleasant. Still, nothing to write home about either. Although my drinking is way down from what it used to be, I always order a drink (or 2); makes the upcoming meal seem a bit less bland. The last time we went, I had a tilapia (not the best thing to order in a fish restaurant, I know, but I doubt the Red Lobster tilapia tasted all that much different than the Red Lobster bluefish or the Red Lobster seared tuna) dish in a white chocolate sauce with Macadamia Nuts. Sounded intriguing, and I have an immense sweet tooth, but I did feel on finishing the dish that it was going to be the final impetus for me into full-blown diabetes. Which, of course, didn't stop me from ordering dessert... Read more

Rated against other chain restaurants it would probably rate a little higher but as a real honest to goodness seafood restaurant it falls short. To put it in simple terms, it's the Olive Garden of the seafood world.

Yuck, Red Lobster isn't that great when you grow up where you can get fresh seafood.  That said, the crab legs and cheese biscuits are decent but that's about it.  You rarely see anyone there eating lobster either.    yar.

Here in Virginia, Red Lobster is VERY popular, the restaurants themselves are very nice, the atmosphere is a classy seafood restaurant type. The food is the next thing, it's always good, and with my family, it's always taken home for another meal, because they serve such big portions. The food is definately not typical seafood that you get served at a normal restaurant.

As of now I work for Red Lobster. I've been with the company for over 7 years and reading this comments can make me sick. The unfortunate thing about this chain of restaurants is that is too difficult and pricey to get high quality fresh seafood for over 750 restuarants. The Today's Fresh Fish panel really is fresh, arriving 2-3 times a week depending on the volume of the location. Guests do pay more than Apple bees or TGI-Fridays for their meal, but they also dont get the same quality or selection of seafood. Barking at a $50 meal for three probably means you should have had it your way at Burger King and had three $6.00 meals. When my fiance and I go out to eat (not at RL) we rarely spend less than $140.00, not including tips. As far as my 1-Star rating, it is based on the fact that the chain is seafood for the masses and so many walks of life come through that its hard enjoy the atmosphere. Children screaming aside (hey, its a family restaurant, what do you expect?), a disp... Read more

POOR WOULD BE TO GOOD OF A WORD TO USE. I CALLED THE WHITEHALL, ALLENTOWN LOCATION AND SCHEDUALED A RESERVATION, NOT BEING TOLD THEY HAVE WHATS REFERED TO AS ADVANCED SEATING, WHICH MEANT MY 6:45 TURNED INTO A 8:00 PM SEATING, THE MANAGER HAS NO CLUE ON HOW TO DEAL WITH A CUSTOMER, OFFERING MY FAMILY NOTHING FOR THE INCOINVIENCE, EXCEPT THAT THEY MAY TELL YOU AN APPROXIMATE TIME AND WHEN THEY LURE YOU THERE YOU STILL MAY WAIT AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. ANY BUSINESS THAT HAS THIS KIND OF TRAFFIC NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE DEMAND, BUILD ON, MOVE TO A BIGGER BUILDING, DON'T EXPECT PEOPLE WITH FAMILYS TO WAIT FOR HOURS, TELL THEM SORRY WE CAN'T TELL YOU WHEN YOU MAY BE SEATED. HOW WE WERE TREATED, WAS POOR AT BEST. MY MONEY WILL GO ELSEWHERE ! P.S. BY 8:00 WE WENT TO ANOTHER PLACE A HALF HOUR AWAY, WERE SEATED, HAD OUR DRINKS AND APS. AND IT WAS ONLY 7:50 PM. SHAME SHAME. This is just fair. It is a super chain what do you expect? Good for the family, it really is not a place for fancy celebrations. It is a bit pricey for the quality. I just really love shrimp scampi, and they give a buttload. I reccomend King's or Enterprise fishouse if you are in Santa Barbara CA, or Sid's Seafood hose if you are in Canoga Park, CA.

This is the only seafood place we have in our area so I don't have anyone to compare them too. The service is hit or miss in our location. Sometimes you get a very nice attentive server and other times you are lucky to find one. We love the alota colada as it comes with an extra shot making it actually worth the money when most places make you weak drinks and charge you way too much.

Somewhere around 1999 I went to a Red Lobster in another state I was visiting and picked up my drink and my glass came apart causing my drink to go all over my clothes. I was soooo embarrassed it was ridiculous. They actually wanted me to eat a meal after that! I told them no thanks just give me a refund cause I'd lost my appetite. Who wants to sit in a restaurant and eat when their clothes are wet? I ended up going to the nearby kmart and picking up some cheap dry clothes to put on. I got the refund and even after that incident continued to go there occasionally. I've had some good experiences and some bad experiences and I agree that the service seems to depend on what kind of location the restaurant is in. I've ended up getting several free meals b/c they just can't seem to get an order right! Recently I asked for a medium well steak and after sending it back twice it still came out bloody red. The manager came over and looked at it and she looked pissed. She apologized and quickly ... Read more

This is just bad, if you have never had real seafood then maybe it is all you know but as it was stated below most of it is frozen. The fish and chips are really bad some of the other stuff is ok but not that great. They are owned by the same people who own Olive Garden and they seem to operate the same way. Wildly inconsistant, perhaps more than any other chain restaurant I've ever visited. What I've noticed with Red Lobster is that in upscale neighborhoods/towns the food can be rather good, at times excellent. However in more working class districts I have found Red Lobster food to be merely fair, sometimes even poor in quality. This includes entrees, salads, appitizers, biscuits...even the decor and service can vary remarkably. One last note; A friend of mine from high school use to work at Red Lobster and told me much of the food had been previously frozen and was primarily cooked in plastic bags thrown in boiling water (this includes chicken breasts and other entree orders). Disappointing, if not altogether surprising...

The wait to get a table at this restaurant in Toledo, OH wsa 45 MINUTES a few weeks ago. Locations around my town (DC) are not half as busy--maybe I'm spoiled. For a chain, the seafood always seems fresh. Try to visit on days when they have their "lobster feasts."

I suppose if you have never eaten fresh seafood, you might rate Red Lobster higher than 1. Their seafood is frozen, and tastes it. The lobster is rubbery and has very little taste. And they are way over priced. Their prices are almost double those of other seafood restaurants in my area...and these restaurants serve FRESH seafood. The last time I ate at one, my company paid for it....thank goodness. The bill for 2 people came to almost $50 !! As I said, my wife and I can eat at a local seafood restaurant for half that, and the food is 10 times better.
