Oh goodness, one of the best Mexican food chains I've been too! I went to one in Minneapolis i believe, and they did not disappoint. *****

our family likes to eat here on occasion. Good food. It is a little more than our budget can afford so we usually go for lunch. They have some good dishes. I have tried the tacos {chicken and beef} both were good. the enchiladas are good as well. I like the fact that every table gets a basket of chips and salsa to munch on while waiting for our meal. I also like the fact that the pops are refills. The dishes are fairly generous in what you get. except of course a lot of the platter consists of spanish rice and beans. along with the entree. A good restaurant for the most part.   Chi's Chi's has gone byebye oh well they were getting to high for us and did not offer deals on lunches on Saturday. so good riddance.

Not so great, ours closed down, because they had to compete with actual mexican places and so there you have it.

Let me first say Chi Chi's is out of business, they are no more, history, filed for Bankruptcy protection last year and then couldn't come back from that Green Onion food poisoning incident where a number of people died in Pennsylvania. The company that owns Outback, Carrabas bought them out and now own all their assets so where a Chi Chi's once was will now probably be an Outback or Carrabas or something else or nothing. The only thing I ever ordered at Chi Chi's was their Fajitas, they were good and this place was way better then Taco Hell or On the Border.

I agree with RaterX. Chi-Chi's is what you think of as the first attempt at chain-Mexican. Taco-Bell is a more pleasurable experience than Chi-Chi's and definitely better in taste, appearance and speed. There is no truly authentic Mexican chain in this country; all so-called Mexican chains here are actually TEX-Mex. Travel south of the border and half the stuff we are told is Mexican is not to be found on any menu since it originated in the same rotten state as Dumbya, not in Mexico.

Worst ever. You can get better Mexican out of the freezer at Safeway.

Not the best Mexican food out there but Chi-Chi's has a special place in my heart. I lived in Germany for a few years. One time at this American military base, they had a Chi-Chi's. It was the first mexican food I ate in at least 3 years. So, for a few years of my life, Chi-Chi's was the only place I could get my fix of mexican food.

ersatz mexican food and badly mixed margaritas but if they dipped me in their chili con queso and threw me to a pack of rabid chihuahua's, I'd die a happy man

Have to say the only reason it gets a 3 star is for the salsa and corn muffins, everything else isnt very authentic.

It's a shame that Packer great Max McGee is to blame for this poor excuse for good mexican. Seriously, any town in the U.S. has got to have a more desirable place than this.

I have only been there a few times... I was actually at the one in PA were are these problems started. Mind you that was years ago. First, this isn't Mexican food.....I live in Tucson and you'd they would have one here. They must know they can't compeate with our local Mexican places. Now up north they may like it....but come south.

A few months ago my wife and I decided to go to Chi-Chi's in Des Moines Iowa. After sitting for 10 minutes with no service, upon approaching our table, our server, obviously embarrassed, announced that there was currently a 25 cent per peson surcharge for sitting down in the restaurant due to the cost of the air conditioning. Believe it or not, I am not kidding. Afer ordering our drinks it took 7 minutes for our server to return with them to take our food order. 20 minutes later our mediocre tasting room temperature foos arrived. The irony is there appeared to be only 5 other tables seated in the entire restaurant. Bottomline: Food, over-priced and mediocre at best Service, embarrassingly poor Management, seemingly desperate for money Location, Army Post Road, Des Moines Iowa

I can never find anything on the menu that sounds good. Seven bucks for a margarita? Are you kidding me? There are only 3 reasons to go to Chi Chi's in Duluth, MN--- 1) All-you-can-eat chips and salsa. 2) Good lunch specials. 3) The best out-door deck in Duluth overlooking Lake Superior (makes you forget about all the hassle you encounter here).

Great food in a pleasant Mexican setting! I usually do not like Mexican food, but they have a good steak dinner for those who do not like Mexican. Also, delicious fried ice cream dessert!

Chi-Chi's food is nauseating. Everything I've eaten there has been terrible. The last time I got a salad. The lettuce was shredded and it was horribly messy to eat.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a restaurant. . .a terrible excuse for Mexican food. Perhaps it was just this particular restaurant, so I won't give it 1 star.

We used to have a Chi-Chi's restaurant here in Albany, NY, but they shut down for some reason. I don't really know why. Anyways, we went there after my Uncle got married and it was great. They serve you great nachoes and their fajitas and tacos are great there too.

Chi Chi's has suffered a marked decline from around ten years ago, when the quality of their food was good. Today either the competition is much better or they are much worse, either way, Chi Chi's is barely a noticible step up from Taco Bell in Quality and their prices are absurdly disproportionate to what you get in food.

This is the place to go for Americanized Mexican food. Nice sized portions and a wide selection on the menu, including vegetarian meals. Great chips and salsa too. The "fried ice cream" is a good after-dinner topper. A few years ago I was eating some of the abovementioned ice cream and found a piece of glass in it! Needless to say we got our dinner for free and many apologies from the manager (probably thought I was going to sue them after biting into a piece of glass!)

Chi Chis is an excellent restaurant to get great Mexican food at a reasonable cost. You don't have to spend a lot or dress up to come, just bring a hearty appetite.
