One of my favorite games was at the original Tiger Stadium.  It looked exactly like it did on tv...there was nobody there.  But it was nice to kick my feet up, and just relax.

A great baseball team and sports town.I would love to seethe 1984 team play some of the teams of today.I think they would win hands down, because that team was such a dominating team.

Jim Leyland has turned things around in Detroit. There's a winning attitude there and they should be contenders for a while.

October 21-October 26: The World Series at Ford Field and Busch Stadium. Where in the name of God did Detroit come from? The past few years they had about a 55-127 record or somewhere close to that, and now they're slinging around hefty grenade launchers and mowing down the competition. How about that Kenny Rogers? One of the best pitchers 2006 has to offer, I think. Second to the Met's Tom Glavine.

Awhile back last season I gave the Tigers a three-star score due to only being a .500 team. I also promised to hand them a 5-star rating if they start winning. That time has now arrived. The Detroit Tigers are the best team in baseball. They don't have a guy who is hitting a ton of balls out of the park, but they have all 9 guys getting hits and RBI's. They're the top team in MLB this year. This is great for poor Tigers fans like myself who hav suffered for years. Up one, Yanks!

It's official: Hell has Frozen Over - the Tigers have the best record in baseball as of this posting. Not only that, but they have the best ERA in the league with a pitching rotation consisting of 5 starters who all have winning records. Mike Maroth and Kenny Rogers in particular, are having standout seasons thus far. They also rank in the top 10 in virtually all offensive categories and are currently ranked second, behind Milwaukee, in home runs hit. But the most impressive stat, to me, is their road record, which, at 16-7, makes them head and shoulders above any other team in this regard. A good road record is a great indicator of a teams mettle, willpower and mental maturity. Leyland has done a superb job making sweet lemon-aid out of the sour lemons he was handed. Not sure if they can keep up this amazing pace, or if they are realistically one of the best teams in the league, only time will tell. But I'll leave them at a five anyway because I'm heavily biased and they are woefully ... Read more

A once proud team in a solid baseball town. One that was often a contender, and has featured some of the greatest players ever, and other big stars (Cobb, Greenberg, Gehringer, Trammell, Crawford, Kaline, Morris, Gibson, Heilmann, Whitaker,Newhouser, etc.) They've fallen on hard times since the early 90's, with some of the worst teams ever. Hopefully on the upswing.

Sure they improved last year but the starting pitching is gonna bite them because they're not experienced. But their bullpen is lethal with Pudge Rodriguez's closet lover Ugueth Urbina and the new addition of Troy Percival.

Have you SEEN how they've turned it around? In a few years they might actually make the playoffs!

They got a 3 cause of their great history, not for anything they do nowadays, they suck. 1-17 is a great way to start a season.

Great organization with a long, proud history. Prior to the last ten years, one of the winningest teams in the majors.

I doubt, but really hope that they will challenge the INdians for the AL Central this season. They will knock some balls out of the park.
