Good as Snape, but Dogma was the better movie.

He was the ONLY good thing in Kevin Costner version of Robin Hood. His roles are unforgettable....my favorites were in Dogma, Harry Potter, his voice work in the newer Alice in Wonderland movie.

He's at his best in two films. The truly dreadful Costner version of Robin Hood, where he is the only thing worth watching, and as the best part of the Bruce Willis vehicle Die Hard.

He probably will always be remembered as Prof. Snape from Harry Potter. He's excellent in Robin Hood, Rasputin, Galaxy Quest, Dogma, but I think he is best in Closet Land.

It's got to be Truly, Madly, Deeply, but he is perfectly cast as Snape in the Harry Potter films and was great as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the otherwise forgettable Kevin Costner version of Robin Hood.

Toss-up between Truly, Madly, Deeply and Bob Roberts.

Impeccable, absolutely so, as the noble Colonel Brandon in 'Sense and Sensibility'.

Honestly, he was below my radar until portraying Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies, where he does a great job.

Rickman was cool in Die Hard, but I liked Dogma better. Still, his best line is the spoon thing from Robin Hood. "Its dull you twit, it'll hurt more."

One of my favorites with a number of very good performances. I liked him a lot as the Metatrone - the voice of God - in "Dogma." He got to showcase his very dry (and smartass) sense of humor in that role.

He is one of my favorite actors. He's been in a lot of good movies, but I think Galaxy Quest is one of the most underated comedies of the last few years, and Rickman is outstanding.

A brilliant, versatile actor. Enormous presence and charisma and able to protray great character believability. Hmmm best movie... From Sense and Sensibility to Dogma to Harry Potter to Die Hard, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves to Galaxy Quest... How do you pick his best performance?
