London (as far as I know) isn't the hub or global economic activity so that wouldn't be the reason a terrorist would attack London. Plus the places that the terrorists were attacking were aimed at civilians, and werent economic targets. I believe this happened out of revenge for the fact that Britain have been so heavily involved in the war on terror and it is meant to also coincide with the Olympics. Their objective is to bring fear rather then disrupt the economy (in that attack). I think this attack was more of a revenge attack more then anything.

A momentary blip. The 9/11 attacks were supposed to bring the global economy to its knees also... and that didn't happen.

I'm sure this pleases them silly that they are able to disrupt the economy across the globe.
