Tina was still looking REAL good in the 80s,but I liked her older music (60s & 70s) much better.

She was a great performer in her prime but I'm with oscar, her biggest hits were pretty uninteresting middle of the road stuff aimed at moving huge volume at WalMart.  Last year there was a great album released by a 61 year old R&B; singer named Bette LaVette, called "Scene of the Crime".  I'd never heard of her, but the press on her said that she had kicked around Detroit for 4 decades before making the album.  It was produced and recorded with the members of the Athens Georgia band The Drive By Truckers.  When I heard it I was struck by the thought that this is the type of gritty deep soul music that Tina Turner is worthy of, not the slick pop that she will be remembered for by people who bought her 80's records.

The really good stuff was all done with Ike- who was crazy and abusive, but very talented- in the 50's, 60's and 70's. For example, "River Deep, Mountain High," is approximately better than anything coming out today. Good original songs and a lot of interesting covers too. The 80's stuff was pedestrian adult contemporary pop with a little bit of soul that wasn't particularly memorable, but it was better to see Tina have a huge comeback and big success than a lot of the foul poseurs, nonentities, and frauds in that miserable decade who also did. Deep down, I wonder what Tina would think of having company like New Kids on the Block, Clay Aiken, and other shitbags on this list.

One of the best concerts I ever witnessed. Great powerful raspy voice, great moves, great legs, and best of all great songs. A true legend very few can compare. Her cds rock. All of them. 5 stars all the way.

I remember I thought it was pretty cool that this lady came back from nowhere and cranked out the hits, sexier than ever. She put some of her younger peers to shame.

A product of the sixties and seventies, but she probably reached her peak during the eighties. A super talented performer.

i give this lady 5 stars. She is a great singer! Charismatic. I'm sorry for what that Ike clown did to her! Wife beaters like him should suffer! And anyone who thinks that she sucks probably has no taste for good music...no offense!

Tina's legs look great for a woman in her 30's, nevertheless her 60's. But her voice and songs just have never done it for me. Seems like she was always trying too hard or something.

Appealing to all ages (especially in Europe), she has a string of hits and still has it, even at 65 years of age!

What a shame. She was good in the early Ike days on soul classics like 'River deep..' and 'Nutbush city limits'. Then when she went AOR in part 2 of her career it all went massively pear shaped. Tracks like the abysmal 'Simply the best' are typical of what was truly sh*t about 80s corporate middle of the road rock.

Tina is awesome!! Forget about her troubled past...we all know she's a great lady. Recognize her for her raw talent and charisma. She has a unique powerful voice and is one of the best live performers of her time.

I'm so lucky to be alive to watch her. I remember seeing her when she was still with Ike and she was a force of nature. No other entertainer dead and alive has what she posseses. Her presence raises the bar and I can't think of anyone who surpasses her. She's timeless and I pity the fool who can't hear or see her supremacy as an artist. She's worth every dime.

It's absolutely amazing what this woman has endured throughout her life. In spite of everything that's happened to her, she has perservered and has become one of the top-selling rock and roll artists. She went from playing worldwide with Ike to playing in hotel banquet rooms and then climb her way back up the top in the 80s. It takes a lot of fortitude for a woman to be willing to walk away from a marriage with absolutely nothing except her name. I've seen her concerts on TV and once in person, and she has the MOST amazing energy when on stage. She always puts on a great show. I've enjoyed all of her music- her work with "Ike" like "Nut Bush City Limits" and "Rollin' on the River" was good, and her comeback in the 80s with "What's Love Got To Do With It" is awesome. She belongs so much higher up on this list.

Considering all that she's been through, she deserves nothing less. She's hit rock bottom with an abusive marriage and has come back on top. What a great entertainer.

Great (at least the music was) with Ike. Don't care for the 80's stuff. I don't rate her as highly as Joplin, Aretha, and Joni Mitchell, but you gotta give this woman credit for being a great rock 'n' roll survivor and performer.

Tina Turner is one of the best female rock and roll singers of all time. Her music is electrifying. She gives the best in person concert of any entertainer I have ever seen. I have seen her live four times. Once with Ike (1972), once right before her solo career took off (1982) and twice recently (May, 2000 and November, 2000). The energy was unbelievable. Tina Turner is a good person with a good heart. She is not a victim. She doesn't hate anyone. It shows!

Tina throughtout her painfull life has made it through and came out to the top. She is completely the most best singer of all time. She lived a life of pain and past it all she came through singing. She is strong and that is what I love about her. She has so much strength and she has the ability to shock and amaze her fans as nobody can and as nobody will. I will miss her and I am sure that as her fans you will too. I love you Tina!!!
