I generally disagree with Bernie on issues and I am appalled by what has become of him. I wish him well and hope he gets the help he needs. My prayer is that someday we get to hear him on the radio again, being wrong about everything again.

Very sharp - enjoy getting his viewpoint after so much input from the right. Offers insights and info you won't get elsewhere. I love to start my Sundays with "God Talk" - really puts me in the mood for church! I especially enjoy Bernie's conversations with Dr. Amanda Quantz (Chicago Theological Seminary).

A Bay Area institution who deserves some wider recognition as a voice of the Catholic left. In high school he came into our American history class to talk current events, and proved as astute and insightful as he is on the radio. Doesn't cling to a particular ideology, but takes shots at everybody, especially at any and every institutionalized religion. His "God Talk" hour is the model for the Daily Show's "God Machine" segment. Didn't know he was sick.

Spose we should feel sorry for him read he was dying.  looks to me like he will explode first. this is a very weak person who wants everyone to pay for his kids education and constantly whines and never offers anything positive.

Bernie Ward is a douche bag.

Ward is what I would call a "one-trick-pony" as his program is entirely devoted to Bush Bashing. (Not to say that Bush needs a bit of bashing, but enough is enough.) Variety is the soul of talk radio, and I have not listened to KGO from 10PM on for years. Boring, boring, boring. His God Talk is a different matter except for the frequent times when he intellectually brow-beats callers who do not have his Jesuit-trained debating talents. It's often clear what the caller is trying to say, but God help him or her if she or she does not follow the rule of debate. Off the topic, but Ray Taliaferro (sp?) is from the same boring mold.

"The Lion of the Left" is the best KGO has to offer. Doesn't pull his punches, not even for liberals.
