lHe never is present for his radio show. There are always substitute hosts sitting in for the always absent Ed. The name of his radio show should be "We don't Got ED."His show on the "tube" seems to be much more important to him than his radio show. I get tired of hearing how many "walleyes" he has caught. Hope he loses both his radio show and the Tv show. OK.. it is 9/16/2010 and the big redhead is missing in action again on his radio show. A substitute is covering for him. Where is he? No explanation is given as to where the hell he is. Bet he shows up tonight for his show on the "tube."

When I was a kid, I'd look forward to watching Mr Ed the talking horse. It was a great comedy. Now I look forward to watching Mr. Ed the talking horses ass, still a great comedy. This idiot actually said that he needs Obama to intervene with Fox News so that his ratings could go up. Ed you need much more than Obamas help - you need a credible show! Actually msnbc needs to become a credible network.

This character is a phony. Used to be a conservative then switched when he saw where he could make some more money. Always talking about the "working folks" of America and "main street business". Never analyzes exactly how the administration is going to be screwing both. His guests are from such respected sources as the Daily Kos and the Huffington Post. What a joke. Damn near choked when he had Sen. Deb Stabenaw from Michigan on. She is arguably the dumbest of the 100. I don't listen daily but he's the one to go to if you need a good laugh. His little audience is also a hoot.

Great communist talk. If you dig communism of course.

Just a copy of Limbaugh but coming at us from the far left.
mchamma 02/12/2009
What a drone! He actually sounds like Rush Limbaugh with that crazy lisp.

Very angry white man.

Ed Shultz is full of poop and it is offensive to have him labeled as a progressive talk radio personality. He is not proggresive at all......check his ideas and you will realize that he is more conservative than Limbauuigh.

As a lifelong democrat it was refreshing to hear the Air America lineup of hosts finally provide a point of view that counters the pervasive conservative dialogue. However, it has become increasingly clear that the Ed Schultz show is proving to be the conservatives' best friend during the current presidential race. Recently, he has devoted much of his broadcasts to the villification of the Clintons to the extent that one must question his political leaning as well as the purpose of these attacks. It is apparent to this former listener to the show that the escalating anti-Clinton commentary is in retaliationn for her refusal to appear as his guest. As most of us know, if we want to listen to Clinton-bashing on a daily basis, there are many alternatives to the Ed Schultz show with hosts that have refined their hatred of this family to an art form. Its about time we had some truth on radio - instead of right wing garbage. He doesn't do oxycotin, he doesn't harass his co-workers with a loofah sponge and he actually makes sense. Imagine that, intelligence . . . cohesivness and no racial comments! Finally - someone who doesn't try and sell the shrub and shooter. Can't wait till 2008!!!!
Truerblue 06/27/2007
I've never heard a liberal/progressive talk radio host make this much sense. Mr. Schultz does not engage in the mudslinging that other radio talk show hosts do-liberals & conservatives included. He has a fresh outlook on current events and should be seated at the table with Congressmen, Senators and all other lawmakers.

Ed who? I finally got a chance to listen to him.. Sounds like the other liberals in California.. Sould change his name to Jones and try his luck at football..

I used to listen to Ed for years when he was a die-hard conservative in Fargo. He was popular because he had a core set of beliefs (I thought). He saw a career opportunity, and did a 180 as soon as Air America and satellite radio began to take off. He knew he could not compete with Rush and other conservative hosts nationally, and 'thought' that liberal radio would be a big hit. It is not that I dislike him just because I am a conservative, as I enjoy listening to liberal talk as long as it has some intellectual substance rather than ignorant ranting and name calling, as most liberal hosts rely on. What bothers me most is that even if he had a change of heart, I find it hard to believe that he would suddenly as if overnight, agree with each and every issue right out of the liberal handbook, without even hanging on to any of the conservative perspectives. Sounds like he is more concerned with his career than his principles, whatever they may be. Maybe once liberal talk radio goes in the tank, Ed will find God, and hit the televangelist circuit.

I honestly have tried to like this guys radio show. I have voted straight line democrat for at least the last ten years and been registered as a democrat since 1973. I have been listening to his show for about six months now, and it appears that he is trying to be a left wing mimic of rush limburger. Ranting and raving is for republican talk show hosts, democrats should do what they do best and be intellectual, and leave the good ole boy nonsense to those it fits. After listening to liberal radio, including Ed Shultz and the Air America shows, I completely undestand why democrats are not getting into office. The republicans have both the right wing media and the left wing media fighting for their side. If the republican party was smart they would subsidize Ed Shultz show. He is their unintentional ally.

Informative and entertaining

I won't listen to him any more. He seldom has up-to-date information, or knowledge about current events, and he argues based on emotion rather than logic. Also infuriating is his refusal to admit when he is wrong, or to acknowledge that critics might have a point. (If someone doesn't have all the facts, he's bound to make mistakes occasionally!) His excuse -- that it's a small show -- doesn't hold water any longer. Staff members need to read a broad range of media (the Nation, anyone?) and distill for him. And finally, he may honestly be a populist, but occasionally his comments reveal what I believe are his true core conservative beliefs.
booboocello 02/18/2006
Ed Schultz is just aweful as a host. He isn't very bright, is not interesting to listen to, and when he has to debate with a guest, he always gives the weakest arguements possible. I am a talk show junkie, but honestly when the Ed Schultz show comes on I ALWAYS go to FM and listen to music. I don't understand why someone hasn't fired him...seriously!
listenandhear 02/03/2006
Ed speaks a 'real' thruth. The truth of the people, what is really happening. Anyone who sees outside of the propaganda of todays news will see that what he says is real, to real. No canned speach with ed schultz. Oh, i am an american and registered republican. Republicans now days are hijacked by the neo cons. Go Pittsburgh.

can't tell the truth!

Big Eddie Rocks. He never lets the far left take over the conversation, and will smack down anyone who gets out of line. He is exactly the opposite of what conservatives say liberals are.
gregrocker 11/26/2005
He is rising above the flash crowd of liberal talk radio hosts. I listen to them all on our local Clear Channel Affiliate in L.A. butfind myself turning away from Franken, Rhodes and Malloy, while staying riveted to Ed for his good common sense knowing that is what will recapture a mainstream temporarily distracted by the GOP hate issues to vote against their own economic interests. True he is sometimes not on top of his facts but he has come a long way from the sportstalk rightie whose flame took him to her job at the homeless shelter to meet the thrownaway vets. My other talk favorites are Majority Report for its smart hip melding with the best left blogs, and of course the great Bernie Ward 10-1 pst on KGO, a former Catholic priest who is our toughest liberal puncher and who can tell you who a rightie caller listens to as he debunks the guys misinfo with gusto.
sloppytrack 11/23/2005
Big Ed has the best radio show on the air. I listen to him every day. I also listen to the folks on Air America. Al Franken, Randi Rhoads etc. They have taken my ears away from other shows Howard Stern, John and Ken, Bill Handel, Rush Limbaugh. Big Ed is priority number 1. Regards Dan
Jerry Moore 11/20/2005
Ed's show presents an extremely fair, extremely honest discussion of the issues of the day.
ecp1976 11/04/2005
What a terrible talk show host. He isn't current on the facts, he consitently has the same people on his show, Wes Clark, Boxer, Daschole...the list of liberal left wing nutjobs goes on and on. If he really wants to compete with Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck, he really needs to revisit his roots and become a conservative. he is likeable enough and I really think he'll eventually come around.
irate_it_all 09/23/2005
Ed is the master of taking a simplistic look at a complex issue and flogging the "righties" for their approach, no matter what it is. Simple radio for simple minds, I guess. At least it makes it easy to keep track of the good guys and bad guys while listening. It's a shame, because he seems to be a likeable guy. If Ed would allow himself to think more critically about the issues and ask better questions of people representing both sides, he could provide a valuable syndicated radio show "from the heartland." Jones Radio Network would probably throw him under the bus, of course, but he could hook up with a legitimate syndication service and make it to the bigtime.
camerondcr 09/07/2005
Ed often seems to be winging-it. He seems not to be current with the facts of issues he is talking about. He is likable though. I still feel this way even after a nasty email he sent me in response to a critical email I sent him. Honestly, I believe he is still a Republican at heart, but just out to make his buck.
iq250 07/31/2005
I like the fact that Ed doesn't screen his calls. He isn't always right, but you appreciate that there is a conversation and not a speech of some right wing time slot dictator.
