[Warning: spoilers.] The title of my review would be too easy easy: this movie blows. I feel even more ripped off because I generally like Depp and Cruz, and because I paid full price to see Blow in the theater. A real-life story about a decent young man who finds himself drawn into the underworld despite himself: if the plot and use of voiceovers didn't already sound familiar, the presence of Ray Liotta from makes the allusion to Goodfellas obvious. Yet Blow doesn't even come close to a Scorcese picture, instead settling for a crude morality play about innocence corrupted that Scorcese would have scoffed at. I like the cinematography, and the last frame is especially compelling, which if I remember correctly shows us the withered real-life person Depp was portraying. But by that point in the film you're probably asleep or can't wait for it for end.

One of Johnny Depp's great performances in a terrific movie.

I really liked this movie (as I do most Depp flicks), and I think as well known as it is, it was still somewhat overlooked. I won't even lie, this ending choked a 20's something me up, more than a teenaged me was choked up by Braveheart. I can't lie, I'm a cryer on some movies. The movies 'Tae Guk Gi: the brotherhood of war' and 'Saving Private Ryan' choked me up as soon as they began. But, yeah, the end of 'Blow' got my pansy ass real good.
