IJR remains silent when this phrase comes up when reciting the pledge. No need to make a federal case out of it. 2

Thanks to Helmut for the suggestion, but I think he meant the Pledge? Bless his heart....HA HA! Anyway, to the issue at hand - I doubt God wants his name associated with an empire that will be described as 'brutal' and misguided, by historians not too long from now. History repeats itself, but/and make no mistake, this Empire will not last as long as Rome did. Future historians will look upon the current administration as the turning point in the downfall of the empire. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to live in America, but any idiot can see it coming. In the massiveness of all of history, America will be seen as a flea on the grill of an SUV. God does not want his name associated with such an idiotic, brutal blip on the scale of history. And I'm proud to be an American...........where at least I know we will impose our will on everybody. Is anybody as ashamed as I am? We are going down people, believe me. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but we are going down sooner than later. 1

I am assuming that since this list maker is from the U.S., he means The Star Spangled Banner, which does NOT have the word God in it. Well, at least it is not in the part which is performed. In the fourth verse (yes, there are four verses) it says And this be our motto, In God is our trust. I wonder if this list maker is overly concerned about something that is never performed (and part of Key's artistic creation) or is thinking of the Pledge of Allegiance.5

I think God is upset over His name used in the National Anthem because he didn't write the song. God loves ALL countries, not just the US. Those evangelists and right-wing politicians always say that the US is 'God's Country.' ALL countries are His.3
