I like to eat here, but only if I am starving! To the viewer who commented about their instant mashed potatoes.....are you actually commenting on a restaurant that you've never eaten at....???? Because all Golden Corral's only serve home-made mashed potatoes! In fact, that is what they are known for, is home-made foods! All their food is home-made or semi-home made, right down to their pizza's! I think the only food there that are not home-made, are the cheese sauce, and maybe some other stuff that is more convenient if already prepared. and I think they use frozen breaded scallops, etc. instead of breading and frying their own fried foods. But they do some of their own breading and frying, such as their breaded and fried squash/zucchini! YUMMY!!! Where I am from, we have 2 choices to dine at for buffets, this restaurant and then Old Country Buffet. The food is definitely better at Golden Corral, but as far as cleanliness goes.....well they leave little to appreciate. My favorite t... Read more

Don't eat there often, but I do like their variety. Everything I get is always fresh and delicious. Do not like the fact that you cannot get your own drink, which is almost a major business "no no." If people drink more, they eat less....

My family and I flew to Atlanta from Los Angeles on vaction. We dined at the Golden Corral for the first time. The food was out of this world and the choices were limtless. It is the best buffet style resturant I've ever been too. I wish I could afford a franchise

is it possible to give a negative 5 rating Parkersburg West Virginia Golden Corral definately deserves that big of a negative the wait staff and managment make fun of handicapped people and obese people and if you complain they tell you to leave and never come back

My buddy likes to call it the Cattle Trough and that is what it basically is. You give up quality for quantity. One of the better buffet places I've been to though.

Great place if you are in the mood to pig out. I have eaten at the Evansville, Indiana location on the east side. lots to choose from, some good, some bad. definetely not gourmet. steaks are tough, but hey, you have have like 50 lbs of food for 10 bucks, what do you expect? Blue cheese lettuce wedge is ok, bourbon street chicken is good. Carrot cake is really pretty good too.

Maybe it was just the one in my city, but I was never fond of Golden Corral Buffet Grill when it had a location here. The day my entire family went, the food was, at best, mediocre. The food was not even kept pre-warmed with globlets of solid fat solidifying on the meatloaves and steaks. The hamburgers were dry and the bread was hard and stale. As far as the feel of the retaurant, the plates and cups we used seemed not very clean (spots all over), and the floors were unclean (spilled food in plain sight, and employees seemingly oblivious to it). Not surprising, it folded a few months later (around late 2004).

Smells like they mop the entire restaurant with a bucket that just mopped up the bathroom and someone peed, puked and bled on the floor. mixed with mold and mud. The wait staff does not speak english, the good points, the meat/steak/burgers are always really good. the food actually has some flavor. the clientel is less than desireable.

For a buffet setting this is the best I have ever been to as far as hot food, but their salad bar is terrible, and dessert bar is nothing special to look at either. The service is rarely good, but then it's a buffet so who needs em. What I love most about it is that I can get a cut of steak the way I want it right then and there. I have been to buffets where they serve steak and it is always medium to medium well and I like mine medium rare.

Never will I be so hungry where I'll line up at this hog trough to get tasteless meatloaf and instant mashed potatoes. Hurry up kids, Walmart closes at 10:00

I will rate this OK because there are 2 near me. One in Mckinney and one in Sherman. The Mckinney one is excellent. I like going there. It's very clean, good selection. The one in Sherman is bad; very very bad. It's filthy, the food tasted like someone stored it open, in the fridge and not a very good selection.

They used to be very good and then they closed all the restaurants in the area. After a few years they came back but they were not the same and closed again. Unless your in a higher end restraunt buffets are a gamble at best and the Golden Corral was or is not an exception.

I love the weekend breakfast buffet, and lunch buffet afterwards. All for the same price. But I don't like the fact that the restrooms are in the dining room area, right next to the buffet.

Witnessed employee use bare hands to handle food. Had his hands all over the food to be served. Complained to mangament and was called repeated by employee after I asked them not to call. No response from complaint on corporate web page.

Should be re-named Golden Pig Trough. Full of entirely low quality fattening foods. Chaotic enviroment and so-so prices. Only people I personally know who like this place are people who over eat consistantly. I know no one with any culinary taste whatsoever that considers Golden Corral to be quality dining.

OCB or Olde Country Buffet blows this away. Buffet restaurants are a bit like gambling, you may lose your sh!t or hit it big (carved beef). GC has a wide selection but is no OCB. Sloppy stores.

When I lived in Kentucky, Golden Corral was a once-a-month type of thing. Now that I'm in Arizona, there is only one in the whole state, and it's 50 miles away. They need a few in Phoenix!

I used to enjoy eating at our local Golden Corral, and I would always order the shrimp basket and it would come with this delicious freshly prepared sauce. Then, they started bringing it out with this prepackaged, run of the mill cocktail sauce and it wasn't nearly as good. I stopped going.

One of the most boring restaurants ever! Filled to the walls with useless 'country cooking' from yucky vegetables and silly steaks, this place has absoluetly nothing I enjoy. The service is slow, the internal structure is poorly laid-out, and of course the logo stinks. Nothing redeemable about this place, that's for sure!

This was my favorite feeding trough when I lived in the Deep South; there was one right on the way home from work. If you're like me and you sometimes need an all-you-can-eat buffet and are OK with average food, it's a pretty good place. Now that I live in the land of Healthy Food I sometimes I miss that unapologetic white-trash cooking.

My husband and I went to the Golden Corral in Jacksonville, NC today for lunch. Unfortunately, after we had eaten he spotted a roach crawling on the wall next to me. He squashed it and I told our waitress. She went and told the manager. He must have run into the back of the restaurant because he never came out to apologize or anything. After that I itched all over and vowed to tell everyone I know about the roaches in Golden Corral.

Great price, good selection of food, service varies. I feel as if I've been herded into a corral when I go in--very crowded, very hectic, an overall stressful place. That aside, the chicken is good, the steak's quality isn't that great, but it has a lot to do with the cook too (differing opinions of what's "medium rare" and "well done", I guess, but you gotta give them a break, they're just people trying to get by). It would be pretty good if the atmosphere weren't so hectic.

Gross. We always had to go here after church when my adolescent brothers were growing two inches a day. They were able to eat until they were full without making my parents go broke. Our track team wound up here a lot too. I've never heard anyone say the food here is good. My dad says they have okra, and that's the only good thing about it.

Golden Corral is most definately one of my favorite restraunts. I used to go there at least twice a week when I lived in Kentucky (I miss doing that now). For a low price, there is a huge selection of various foods. Their fried chicken is excellent, as are their all-you-can-eat steak and shrimp deals. I very much enjoy their Macaroni and Cheese for some reason. This place is awesome, espescially the newer, larger restraunts.

Welcome to the Golden corral rating!! me an my family wanted to try this place out when we went to gallipolis,OH and it looked fairly good. As we walked in the place seemed really nice and the layout of the place was great! But the atmosphere was pretty hectic and everyone seemed to be in a rush (what for I do not know ;) ) but anyway we just sat down to eat and I got to the buffet and it has a pretty good selection when we did sit back down to eat the food was not as good as we intended ( Probably cause I was in a picky mood) oh well... I did enjoy the conversations that we had there. but the food was ok I guess.... I really liked the chicken and the mushrooms though!! they were excellent! This place was ok for me but some members of my family did not agree since everyone in my family has different tastes!! . this place gets a 2.0/5. they do have a decent website.
